I went to the Russell vs Raceland game tonight. Russell played sound defense and only gave up a couple of big plays. They forced two interceptions and had a fumble recovery on the opening kickoff. Offensively, they controlled the clock and time of possession. Both of Russell’s lines played well most of the game.
Just my observations from tonight’s game.

Pretty impressive, the Fighting Tigers need to come out firing on all cylinders against the Red Devils.

41 to nutin? oh gee, I thought it would be a cupcake but now I just don't know about that! That's a serious thrashing. I know I could hear that train horn blowing all night long from the front porch. I just thought it was stuck

Raceland is not very good , they don’t play physical at all and they lost their QB in the first quarter when the score was 14-0, Russell was going. To win the game either way but it would’ve been closer if he didn’t go out

This game will be interesting. I’ll be keeping an eye out for the score at halftime Friday night.

Here’s my take, Ironton better not rest on there win over Wheelersburg. Wheelersburg is was way overhyped and really not as good as advertised so Tigers better not think they are world beaters over a average Burg team . I say in the end that Ironton will face 5-6 teams just as good and with as good or better team play. I’m sure Head Coach knows that but don’t let a rivalry game become the focal point on a season when that first game may turn out to be just another average team that you beat. I look for a tougher contest this week for the Tigers which will go 2-0.

I don't know who mentioned a running clock. but that's the farthest thing from coach Pendleton's mind. he wants good sound fundamental football being played. this ain't the ncaa. and style points don't matter here. and he proved that last Friday playing reserves again wheelersburg in the 4th quarter. instead of continuing to put the hammer down. bob lutz did the same thing. that's how you develop a team and get everybody playing time. and keep interest up for non starters, their time will come. I don't see the tigers taking anyone lightly.

Bob Lutz he isnt. Maybe some day. Good to see reserves play. Hardly ever happened last. Should be games this year where starters are out in first half and everyone plays. Then we will see if he can head in the legends way.

 Hoping to make it down for the second game, last week was a dandy, sounds like Russell may be loaded to, have Ashland in 2 weeks, one at a time, let's take care of this week then worry about the next game, game against burg was what I thought it would be, burg has a good team, they will figure it out as the season goes on, finally we got the bounces, reed loses 2 and we get both back, usually we lose them back in the past, I'll say this was of the better game we have had in years, guys are totally in shape, Tigers good luck this week, hope both sides stay injury free.

I'll take Ironton in another close game. Pendleton has done a nice job so far and they will keep rolling.
