Don't know Raider, I haven't been down that way in awhile either. 3 years ago when we took a new sofa to my Aunts place. What Road are you talking about? Is that what one of the threads was about on here awhile back, needing an emergency fund or something?Raider6309 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 10:11 pmIs the road still in the river down in Morgan county? I haven’t been there in awhileTRENCHFOOT wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 7:22 pm That's ok. No biggie. I knew it started up there somewhere. It's a lot smaller looking up in the Dresden area compared to on down stream near Malta in Morgan County. My Aunt has a weekend get away cottage down in that area. The river is real wide to boat/water ski/jet ski etc.

Re: WEEK #1 LOGAN @ DRESDEN
Had some good times on the river in my younger days. Only been through one lock up stream from Malta. Kinda creepy. I heard something about people parking boats way up river and partying sometimes. Never been to one of those before. Sounds fun. Cool fast boats, cold drinks, and good looking women.Jokerswild wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 9:26 pmKnow the area well. Original lived on the river between Malta and Stockport. Definitely some good boating. You can lock thru clear to zanesville. Just north before Dresden it really gets shallow. Summertime people will park in the middle of the river and wade from boat to boat.TRENCHFOOT wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 7:22 pmThat's ok. No biggie. I knew it started up there somewhere. My fault, I was referring to the Muskingum river, it starts in Coshocton.
Yes, Tri-Valley is in Dresden. Usually a good atmosphere for a Friday night. Plenty of parking but sometimes can be a pain leaving.
Re: WEEK #1 LOGAN @ DRESDEN
That's the way google says is fastest ,but they have another route that is over 5 miles shorter and nearly the same time. I thought about taking that one. Doesn't look like there would be many stop lights either. Definitely not going through Zanesville! Would have to leave about 1/2 hour earlier to do that.teach1coach2 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 7:37 pmIf you are going through Somerset to get to Dresden, I would suggest 13N, 16E, 60S, 208E to get to game.Going SR 22 through Zanesville is like 30 traffic lights from South Zanesville to North Zanesville with speed limits of 25 and 35.

Re: WEEK #1 LOGAN @ DRESDEN
I grew up in a neighboring district to Logan and teach at Tri-Valley. I know all the routes well. If you are coming by yourself or someone in passenger seat, the roller coaster routes are fine. If you got people in the back seat and don't want them car sick along the way, go the route I posted earlier. Not much longer, but much straighter. Anything going through Zanesville will take longer due to stop lights and road construction between Zanesville and Dresden.
Last year I ate at the Old Dutch before the game. I would suggest those making the trip stop at the Road House if going through Newark, Bill's BBQ if going through Zanesville (it's north of Zanesville), and Warehouse if you want to eat in Dresden.

I went to see a playoff game at TV a few years ago (New Philly).
Great facility. Parking wasn't too bad. I mean you might walk a little bit, but nothing horrible. Logan fans might be a little spoiled now in that regard, but TV is a heckuva lot better than old Bill Sauer Field was, LOL.
Logan usually travels really well for week one. I'm sure there will be a good purple following.

I thought that was what you was talking about. Had me worried about my Aunts place. Her place is on the other side of the river from this. On the Malta side.

Wow, I think the "Logan Locos" have the same theme.teach1coach2 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 8:26 pm Tri-Valley student section theme for Friday is Red White and Blue Patriotic theme.

Think you could be close with a score prediction. A realistic goal is to make TV work for what they get. No defensive TDs - no huge special teams gaffs.
I'd like to see Logan take away some things on the defensive side of the ball - so if they can contain the ground game and force TV to go over the top OR if they take away some of the "easy" throws but surrender more on the ground, I'll still feel like its progress.
TV's defense is always so well prepared. Their kids understand the scheme and their specific job so well that they can play with a contained aggression. They are so quick and know how to punish you. I'm not sure Logan has the balance on offense to find a ton of success against the Scotties. So again I'll be looking for little successes - execution will be important.
Go Chiefs.
Re: WEEK #1 LOGAN @ DRESDEN
All I look for and hope for is the team to play as one. The players have been demoralized in recent years and the new coach is reversing that trend. Sure he will tear into you, but he will teach you too. He will drag you through the dirt, but he will pick you up and dust you off. That will go far in getting results from his players.
This is the beginning of the rebirth of Logan football. The cupboard is starting to fill up and the coaching is in place. There will be a few lean classes, but the programs (youth to high school) are heading in the right direction.

Heard many good things about the new coach. Wouldn't surprise me if everyone notices a big change in the Chiefs Friday night. GO CHIEFS!!!

Re: WEEK #1 LOGAN @ DRESDEN
Some of the locals are hopeful, but I warn everyone the schedule is tough and frontloaded. I’m looking for them to go 4-6 . They have some size and if the run game is decent, they can control TOP and keep the other team off the field. That should help to keep some games close. If the D is also decent, they may lose some but keep it close as well. Don’t see a win with TV, but looking for being competitive in the opener. Rome wasn’t built in a day, but a good foundation gets them set up for a quicker turn around.
Go Chiefs.

Pulling for Logan in this one. That way if Athens and/or Meigs beats Logan we'll get the second level points and we'll need them.

Re: WEEK #1 LOGAN @ DRESDEN
As long as the Chiefs don't get shoved around like last year, and play tough, that will be the change that I'm referring to that people will notice. A win would be nice in the opener, but playing tough suits me fine. The road ahead could get much better.
