Six or Eight Man Football for Small Schools?

Post by MTSWNGRVSG »

With the numbers dropping in football will small schools have to go to Six or Eight Man Football to keep their programs alive? The next question is there really any interest in doing this or just leave football to the bigger schools?

as long as you have options your fine,8 man isn't that far off the radar.
I believe WV lower levels have an option to play 8 man if it comes to that in a game

I am going to throw a curve ball into this.
I say go with 9 man football and then if you do not have the numbers then try 8, then as a last ditch effort to keep the program alive go to 6.

Heard that a couple area (Scioto County) junior high teams are scheduling 8-man games this year due to not enough kids for a regular team.*
