65 boys going out might equal 55 when the first game comes around. This coach sounds a little strict so it would not shock me that 10 will not be able to take it. Our school size shouldn't be under 60 boys. Seems like our numbers haven't gone up after we consolidated. I wouldn't want to count freshman in the 65. I'm just saying we need better numbers to show the program has a chance to come back.

Then Logan still had lots of plants open and guys who worked at the plants would take kids home who lived out in the county area where they lived. This made for a stronger booster club and got guys home who otherwise couldn’t play because of the transportation problem. Union Furnace, Rockbridge, South Bloomingdale, Mt. Pleasant, etc were all covered. But, of course now the school is out of town which removes all walkers and makes the problem more serious. Boosters need to get involved again to address this problem that effects the competitive problem that transportation impacts.
If you are saying the city boys that would need transportation don't go out is crazy. What is it 2 miles from the middle of town to the school. When I was in school there were a good number of boys that would have bikes. If you are talking about boys that are further out that would be a problem if it was still on the hill top too. Now days it seem if you are 16 and daddy and mommy won't get you are car you can't go 4 blocks. We need to work on what you mentioned above for transportation.

Consolidation didn't have much of an affect at all on football - numbers wise or results. It hasn't very many place IMO.

Numbers for football are down everywhere not just logan. As for freshmen playing. Will yea count em cause these freshmen aint the freshmen that were playing in 60's70's and even 80's. Their is always a few that can contribute

I would count freshman if they are playing with the varsity and not to make the bench look good for numbers.

You have to come up with a new saying though, can't use "Restore Order" or whatever it was, something like that as I remember.
Might want to slow your roll skippy. Like I said before this hire was a stretch. They needed a time tested leader and wouldnt even give the guy an interview. Hope they do well but they could have done better.

Unless a Freshman is able to play and contribute on the varsity, Keep all freshman on there own team and compete against other freshman teams. This will help with there development.

Are your other 4 posts as clueless as this one? Apparently the guy they needed to interview was you or was it your relative or best friend? This was and will be a pretty good hire. Stay tuned Skippy.

If your buddy is such a time tested leader why isn't he running a program instead of looking for an interview?

Obviously it wasn't some time tested leader, unless that's aka for really old coach, because I'm sure if it was someone of quality or someone they felt warranted a interview they would've done that.

It is my sincere opinion that Coach Eddy will prove to be a great hire and bring Logan football back to where all the fans want it to be.

Coach Eddy has been at the high school a number of times already since his hire ... looking forward to having him on board as a staff member AND getting the FB program back on track ... there IS enthusiasm in the school and community for the up coming FB season ! pfloyd for one will be in the stands doing my first football game rundowns in many many years ! I'M ready for "the turnaround" to begin ...

can't wait to see your football stats..... Hope you don't get a few round balls in there. But thinking about it with foot running into basketball we might see a couple TDs in there for Dunks next season. lol
