Your schools coach or coaches of the last decade and their accomplishments?

Post by spider2Ybanana »

Saw this topic on the Basketball thread and thought it would be interesting to discuss some of the area coaches.

I'll start the topic off with Wheelersburg and Coach Rob Woodward.

Years: 2008-Present
Record: 117-22 (84%)
SOC Titles: 6
Regional Championship Appearances: 6
Regional Championships: 3
State Championships: 1

I believe Wheelersburg has only missed the playoffs once since 2008. That was the 2011 team that went 7-3.

Woodward has had one season where he didn’t make the playoffs. I remember him being scared because it took him to like year four to win the SOC. Lol. Imagine if he was let go or left.

Yep, went 1-9. Why most schools need to realize it takes at least 3 years to see improvement. Also Ryan Adams actually applied 3 times before getting the job. He should have been the coach since 2000

Plus I went by the Wheelersburg math and used 11 seasons instead of 10

Looks like "Ole Dutch" held pace with the best of the best at Wellston in the last 12 seasons. I would like to see what the records have been since 2000.

7-4 in 2004. That was the year that half of the TVC Ohio schools made the playoffs.

That was a good year for the TVC then! I was pretty young in the Hinton years but remember him coming to our practices to watch what was coming up in the program I thought that was awesome.

Very good year for the TVC Ohio. Varsity coaches showing up to jr high and youth practices and games is huge for a program. It means a lot for the younger kids to know that the guy in charge of it all takes the time to show he cares. Hopefully the next coach at VC and Wellston take the time and show some involvement in the community at all levels.

They've got enough talent coming through over the next few years they should remain a 7-8 win team or better depending on how they schedule. Need to schedule up because that region 16 is such a juggernaut I'm afraid they may not get past that 1st round even with the talent coming through.
