both these teams are struggling at this point in the season. with ironton having losses to wheelersburg, Ashland and fairland. and wins over south point and Russell.

while Chesapeake reeled off 3 in a row with wins over oak hill, Albany alexander, and symmes valley. followed by 2 straight losses to gahs and coal grove.

coal grove and gahs at this point look to be the 2 teams to beat in league play. they meet up in the French city October 6th. while everybody else seems to be somewhat in limbo.

Ironton has momentum after a win, Panthers struggling after opening 0-2 in conference play. Fletcher being out is making a huge difference on offense. Wouldn’t be surprised if Ironton pitches a shutout. 21-0 Tigers

I hope the win was what the fighting tigers needed as they head into the beef of their ovc schedule where it appears coal grove and gahs are looking to be front runners. but a wounded tiger could have something to say about this as well.

Not sure I’d call a blowout win against a depleted SP momentum.

A win for the players feels good no matter who it’s against. It’s a confidence builder. I guarantee the morale in Ironton’s locker room will be a lot more positive than Chesapeake’s

C'mon man, momentum?...confidence builder? SP was forced to put a JV team on the field last night. The only thing that came from this game for Ironton was getting the W.

Winning games = confidence, Steve..

I doubt anyone on Ironton discounted their own win just because it was South Point. They’re teenagers, they’re happy with a win. More importantly the starters got some rest in the second half.

Just my two cents, you don’t have to agree. But the mentality of these two teams coming into the game is a big factoe

I just hope The Peake can make the changes they need to make to get back on track. If not this will end up being a very long year. They have the talent to get back to winning.

This may well be the "who cares" game of the week in the OVC

Purpleblood what type of changes are you looking for? The Panthers are inexperienced in all the skilled positions except quarterback and do not have the speed and talent that they have had in the last 2-3 years. And the OVC is getting better.

Chesapeake seems to be unsettled at this point and Ironton looked better this past week. Look for the Tiger Bait Boys pull this one at.

hey i'll take it at this point. we'll have to see what happens when everybody tosses their marbles into the circle. a wounded panther could be a handful too.
