Valley(14) @ (35)Waverly

Post by oldschoolqb13 »

Tigers are still 6th in their region after the loss. We puked it up 5 times tonight and were beaten by a good football team...still a ton on the line! Valley is never an easy win, no matter what they put on the field. Darren will have them ready...he always does! They even gave us a scare early last year. After seeing the Indians put 40 on the board tonight, the Tigers better not hang their heads and get ready to play.

Obviously I want to win them all and every player better believe that, but if we can win 4/5 (which is a tough task with Valley, a monster in Burg, the physical Siders on the road, and an improving Falcon team...don't know much about River Valley) going out, we can play week 11. Go Tigers!

Too early to tell on this one. If Waverly can get some guys healthy on defense it would help out a lot! Defiantly showed last night just how thin we are on defense.

Losing 2 senior 2way starters is going to hurt. Waverly desperately needs some kids to step up and fill holes. This weeks game is going to be the test to see if these guys can rebound and finish strong.

Waverly just needs to get back to fundamentals and purposefully play the young players to develop depth and experience going forward. Focus on one game at a time and let the chips fall where they may. The Tiger program needs depth and consistancy instead of the up and down boom then bust cycles they have experienced since Coach Bolin.

They were playing freshman before Kayne and Brion went down. These two injuries will mean more youngens playing. Losing these two hurts big time for what remains of this season.
I agree, play a lot of kids to gain valuable experience.

The difference a year makes. Last season we had relatively few injuries on the way to a 9-1 regular season. I think this season Waverly has lost four starters on defense and several others who see time have went down.

Tigers are going to have to "rally around the wagons" so to speak. Hope to see them come out Friday feisty and with a chip on their shoulder. This game will reveal a lot about the character of this team. And as oldschoolqb said, "still a ton on the line"!

Expect to see a testy group of Tigers Friday!

At 8.5000 Waverly is 6th in region 16. The Tigers would be 3rd in region 14, 4th in region 15 and 5th in region 13. I think it's very clear if the Tigers want to be playing in week 11 Valley is a must win. Another loss (in region 16) would have them on the outside looking in.
As oldschoolqb13 said, for any chance at all Tigers MUST win 4 of the last 5 and it starts Friday night as the Tigers host the Valley Indians on Homecoming night.

Time for some young Tigers to step up and fill the holes left by injuries.

I hear that one senior who has been out all season may be back on the field this week.

Congrats to Waverly.

Every week I like what I see/hear out of Valley. The Indians are young but play their tails off every night. This season will pay dividends over the next few years.

The Indians have a few more lumps left on the schedule (West, Burg) but also have 2 winnable games in Belpre and Minford.

If Valley can finish at 4-6, and not last in the SOC 2, I think you look at the season overall as a positive.

Look out in the next few years.
