Just playing devil's advocate here...an argument could be made that, outside of matchups against Waverly, Piketon, ZT, and Unioto haven't really played anyone either. Piketon provided Vinton County & Valley with their only wins to date. ZT has beaten up on Logan Elm, McLain, and Westfall (combined 2-10). Unioto has beaten McLain, Vinton County, and Adena(again, 2-10 combined).

I'm not convinced that SE is the real deal just yet either, but I think the next 3 weeks will definitely show what they are (at Piketon, home ZT, home Unioto).

For what jamboree games are worth, SE controlled the line of scrimmage against Vinton County and moved the ball well until the JV started coming in midway through the 2nd quarter. Also, they went right after the Tomlinson kid from Eastern on both sides of the ball (D I prospect?) and had tremendous success.

All fair points, and too be fair to southeastern I think in the past they played ooc games that were more than they could handle. Now they are playing schools there size and doing well. I like there team I just can't get away from the fact that piketon played so good def against waverly. Your right about the next few weeks as well the conference is up for grabs. My biggest concern with SE is that they have not played from behind yet this season. I think Ruby averages 5 pass attempts or fewer, including plays that he pulls it down & runs, through 4 games. I don't think their run game can be completely shut down, but I don't think Piketon, ZT, or the U is going to let Stauffer & Houser go off for 7 TDs per game. So...what happens when they get into a situation where they have to throw? I've seen plenty of speed out of their receivers on the few pass plays they do run, but it's been a less than 50% success rate when they throw.

The offense has to become a little more diversified, and I think it's going to have to start doing so in about 3 hours.

SE impressed me tonight. Piketon jumped on them with 2 quick scores, but they didn't panic. Mixed some timely passes into their attack, which hurt the Streaks greatly. I thought with so many 2-way players Piketon could/would wear them down, but it didn't work out that way.

Both teams played a helluva game tonight. Piketon's record doesn't tell the whole story. I'm sure coach Gullion will keep them moving in the right direction. Good luck in the second half of the season Redstreaks!

Really impressive for the Panthers to not get down and to prevail the way they did tonight. That's a sign of a mature and well coached team. I'm excited to see how they do against Zane Trace next week.

Piketon should win their next 3. I'm still surprised by the VC and Valley losses, but they should get some momentum starting next week.
