Hearing Wellston matches up well in this one, and no reason not to expect a good result. May be some interesting changes offensively on certain downs and distances.

If you watch West on film they probably look alot more beatable than they do in person. They aren't the biggest or the fastest but they are well coached, hard nosed, and play well together. Offense is balanced. Will be interesting to see how the weather effects the passing game. One thing they've done well is use depth and good in game adjustments to take over the second halves of ballgames. Few play both ways and most that do have backups that take meaningful snaps to rest them.

A 3-7 West team blew Wellston out last year. Stands to reason it will get ugly this year too.
Yea and wellston was 4-6 they was soooooooooo much better
Somehow you're attempting to make a point with this statement........

Can't imagine Wellston getting on the board here unless it's garbage time. West 35, Wellston 6

This teams attitude, confidence, and drive now has become part of them. These attributes are contagious inside the locker room, so Siders by
a couple scores. Good luck fellas!

Haven't seen either team in person but West seems like they have a solid team this year. Merely a prediction

More beatable on film rather than in person? WTH does that mean. The team on film is the same team on the field. Haha. You can tell everything about a team on film. Discipline, attitude, aggression, tendencies, etc. Sorry but that makes absolutely no sense. Anyways. Good luck. Have a safe trip. Most importantly have fun. But not too much fun. These guys on here get butt hurt when you say I told you so.

So when Valley plays Portsmouth on Thursdays to start the season why do you see about every coaching staff on Valley's or Portsmouth's schedule there? I even saw Sammons from Raceland who plays Valley this week. Formations, tendencies, schemes, etc are much easier to see on film but there are things you don't see on film that you only see in person instead of a zoomed in portion following the football. You don't get a read of pace of play, how defenses persue to the ball, or really how hard they play.

Not to change the subject but, i was at the JV game last night and it was a good game but, played on the junior high field. Why? These kids are in high school and should be allowed to play on the high school field. Kinda of shows what you think of your kids coming up. Maybe i'm missing something but, i think since most of them don't see the field on Friday nite and busts their butts in practice through the week, i just think they should be given the opportunity to play on the field on Monday.

like to see wellston pull out a W on the fields of CH Jones to keep their streak rolling and for the Ironmen to gain much valuable playoff points but we all know the west side will come to play...........if the west side let the rockets in it they'll be getting hit in the mouth right back...........

West will be down 14 as soon as they step off the bus. But that won't be enough for Wellston. I can see West seeing that 14, and raising it 14 more to win 28 to 14.

West opens up 4-0 for the first time since 2011. They have a nice team that plays well together. They don't look like much physically, but they tackle, block, and get after it for 4 quarters. That will be the difference.

We have actually had 2 teams since 2008 that have started 4-0

You are correct. In 2010, the team started off 7-0. The 2011 team started the season 6-0.
