Playoffs aren't likely this year but look for the Tigers to finally get a win against one of the other big schools in the ECOL. At least the schedule this year no longer has Cambridge, New Philly, Dover, and Zanesville all in a row.

Cambridge is down this year. They should win that game.

Why is Marietta playing such small schools? That's why I started this post. They might as well play Waterford, Belpre, Caldwell, Fort Frye, and Frontier??!! They would save money on travel cost and they might win more games. Forget the play-offs!!!!

My personal opinion is Marietta is trying to build up its football program and 2-8 and 3-7 seasons weren't doing the trick. I don't really understand your point of travel costs. Morgan, Warren, PHS, Williamstown, and St. Marys are all short trips. Out of teams you mentioned I could see Fort Frye being the only school that would play Marietta year in and year out. Although St. Marys and Williamstown are small schools they have outstanding football programs. Last year both those teams would have beat South and PHS plus the teams you mentioned.

Athens started playing smaller school and look where it got them. Runner up in the state in a very weak division.

Licking County Fan if you haven't been to St. Mary's before you are in for a pleasant surprise. They have a new school and new football facility with turf that is very nice.

In 2014, Athens beat Granville opening round, then 1 seed and undefeated Tri Valley 2nd round, then DeSales 3rd round, and finally Akron SVSM in the state semifinals, before dropping the championship game to Toledo Central Catholic. That's weak, huh? Keep hatin'

Very weak division in 2014. Not many of those boys are playing Big time ball. One for the Buckeyes is getting a flat butt.

Thanks. A friend who is able to travel around a lot more than I can, has told me how nice it is.

Marietta should not be playing D7 schools. So what if those schools in West Virginia win a state championship. They will never make it to the playoffs.
