Hope so. The outlook is good for the Tigers too. A return to the competitive contests of a few years ago would be a big positive for everyone involved.

I will never doubt if burg can field a competitive football team. I think the fans of burg will be anxious to see what it will look like. New faces in places. I think they are somewhere in the 8-2 or 9-1 range. Tough schedule.

Burg coaches are going to have a hard time choosing their QB. All candidates are performing well.

Agreed. Each are very good, Senior thru freshman. And each bring a little different skills set to the table.

Without naming names, last years jv, 9th, and 8th are all competing. Plus two more are in the mix. So 5 possibilities

Well, today is the day. The team reports to camp today for the first official practice of the year after a long and tough offseason in the weight room. Wheelersburg attended Ohio Wesleyan's camp this weekend and I heard some good things about their 7v7 performance against Johnstown-Monroe. Seemed like a lot of kids were able to get reps. All in all I was told Burg "won" the scrimmage, but not sure the total TD's scored (possibly Burg-6 JM-3). I think this was a great opportunity to compete against a program that has been about as consistent as Wheelersburg in terms of overall success over the past decade or so. I can't wait to see how this team develops going into week one. Football season is right around the corner!

stopped in and watched Wheelersburg's camp yesterday. I have never seen a Burg line this big and athletic and they had athletes everywhere. Coach W said at the parents meeting that this was the fastest and strongest team he has ever had at Wheelersburg. After watching 1 practice , I'm a believer. Excited to watch this team!

I agree. These guys have the chance to be the best offensive line Burg has had in a while. We have had some big/physical lines over the past 10 years or so but I can't recall a line that is this big AND athletic. These boys can run.

It will be practically impossible to replace the production of Salyers/Holden from the last couple years, but top to bottom this team is probably more athletic. There is a lot of young talent that are ready to get on the field and produce. We will replace that production by committee this year, and I don't think that is a bad thing at all.

That will make for a good matchup , Ironton has some big athletic dudes that can play upfront on both sides of the ball , with a ton a dept , Irontons Dends are real good, Especially after adding one , the online returns all but one and he will be replaced by a new face too . Look forward to watching this matchup

Did you happen to get a count of TD's scored for each team?

Let’s see. Senior had 1, junior 3, sophomore 3 and freshman 2 if my counts are correct. That b 9. So called ones, didn’t play a whole lot either. 3 or 4 series I believe.
Depth, speed strength is the impression I got

The kids burg started with on both sides of the ball rarely played together as a whole after the first series. They played a lot of kids with very little drop off.
