It's just hard to gauge how good Cuyahoga Heights is since I've never seen them play(other than film)and there are no common opponents, but based on scores they've given up some points. So that alone gives me confidence
They gave up the majority of their points when their starting left CB was out with broken ribs for 6 weeks. He is back and has 6 picks in the last 5 games so to throw on his side on passing downs might not be too smart. Also, in a lot of games, the freshmen were playing the whole 4th quarter because of comfortable leads and gave up points.

Scout25 wrote: Tue Nov 20, 2018 10:26 pm Cuyahoga Heights has 2 RBs, 1 out of the Slot... Both 4.43 speed. Very quick 1st step. Both Trimble and Cuyahoga Heights Lines are comparable. They have a QB that is a very good accurate passer and 4 WR's that can catch and run fast after they catch the ball. They don't throw deep... Dink an dunk which means the DE will have to read the play. Stats say he has only been sacked 6 times all season. How accurate that is who knows. On defense, they have great CB's and Safeties with speed and hands. Last week the Safety had a 93 yard TD pick six. He also has 4.5 speed and is 6'3 220 pounds.
Their LB's are small but hit hard and forced 18 fumbles this year. If they get in on the QB, it could be a long day as they are punishing hitters. Their containment is excellent and don't over pursue, they will wait for the offense to make a mistake and then impose their will. DE's are LB's and fast and very good tacklers. 1 LB will spy the QB leaving the other 3 to make the tackles on the RBs. Their special teams are solid, Return specialists are 2 RBs and the QB. Punter has a 45 yard average. Kicker has made 3 FGs from beyond 40 yards. They block a lot of extra points and FGs. If I was a betting man... This game will come down to turnovers or the last position. If you turn the ball over against the Redskins, you will lose by 10 or more. If you don't, it will come down to who has the ball last. Their offense can either elect to run the FB all game or Pass all game with 4 WR sets. If they mix it up it may be a long night for the TomCats as they are extremely fast and athletic on offense as all of them run track as well.

Last thing... This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Redskins as they only have 1 returning starter on Defense and none on offense. So Trimble will have their hands full.
It cracks me up when people claim high school kids have 4.43 speed.
Zeke Elliot ran a 4.46 at the combine.

Trimble needs to come ready to stop the mid line option and jump those done and dunk routes. Of course, as always, the best defense will be not letting Heights have the ball.

JFK had the game in Hand if it wasn't for 4 Turn overs in the 4th that gave CH short yardage too tie it up, Fumbled and botched punts is the only reason CH is in the Final 4, As long as Trimble Doesnt repeat what JFK with the turn overs, Their Heading too Canton

They struggled with a bad JFK team. I think Trimble is better but it’s always hard to beat a team that has been to two straight state finals

Ok let me clear all this up for everyone

Team speed edge to the redskins
Team toughness edge to the skins
Team strength ok Trimble
Coaching - we have seen all the tricks and we know Trimble has those three great running backs in wright kittle and joints
Spec teams edge to redskins

I see it
CH Redskins 43
Trimble 14
But it might not even be that close. You ain’t playing Miller this week

Listen, I am going to give credit where credit is due. Trimble's CBs and Safety's can hit. I just don't think they have the speed to keep up with the 2 RB's if they get to the outside or 2 WR's if they get loose on the dinks and dunks. Just want to point out about the speed... Go look at their track times... They cannot fudge those times.

The LB's do hit hard, but I would be more concerned with the DL hitting Trimbles 5'8 150 LBS QB... If you get in 3rd and long and are forced to pass, You won't have HP and Lucas CB's and Safety's who cannot catch a cold covering the play. CH has athletes on the field and their CB and Safety's are WR's. I wonder how the games would have come out against HP and Lucas if the 5 passes that should have been picked off would have been. Maybe Trimble still wins those games, but I can see a house party coming on 1 or 2 of those picks this week. That said if Trimble can keep it within 5 yards of line to gain. They have a very good shot of winning this game. If you put it in the hands of the QB to pass... It will be a long night.

Did you watch the game or just read the box score? At no time was CH worried about being behind 20-14? CH fumbled themselves to give them, JFK that 20-14 lead as it was returned untouched down the sideline to the end zone. The botched punt yes, was short yardage, 35-yard drive all on the ground. The score to make it 28-20, started on Heights own 25, ran to the opponents 44 and dinked a pass and he took it 44 yards for the TD. The final score was the pick 6 with 35 seconds left. The impressive part for Heights was that the Offensive and Defensive Line for JFK was enormous. 3 kids over 275 and 1 young man was 305. To beat a team with that size line with the running game is impressive and to only give up 14 points on Defense is equally impressive if not more. You can say turnovers was the difference, well isn't it always. I don't hear you saying that Lucas fumbled 2x inside the 20 wasn't a turning point for Trimble. I guess that was just your defense that caused those fumbles. If you believe that, you would be wrong. Those both were fumbled snaps. Cuyahoga heights forced their fumbles with hard hits by the LB and DE. So to say CH would not be here without the 4 turnovers, same could be true for Trimble if Lucas doesn't fumble 2x when going in for a score. Or if the DBs could catch for HP or Lucas your QB would have had at least 4 picks combined in those two games.

Let me digress, I am just telling you what I have witnessed scouting CH all season for Wickliffe. Wickliffe is a D5 school with kids that are faster than Heights and Heights matched up well with Wickliffe. It was if CH just played with the Wickliffe Team, teasing them. Always 2 scores ahead, let Wickliffe score on a long drawn out drive chewing up the clock and then CH dinked and dunked for another 2 score lead. We had a great scouting report on CH and both teams played a solid game. The better team won.

In closing, these are high school kids. I am sure both communities are anxious to see a great game. It is always fun to watch two teams with such different styles of offenses from where the two teams reside. Trimble has had a hell of a season and their defense has been amazing. I have not scouted the teams you played during the regular season, but it doesn't seem like either Trimble or their opposition could pass the ball from what I read. To be able to sit back on defense, pin your ears back and play against the run all game, well that is going to be a win for Trimble any day of the week. I already alluded to the great play from their CBs and Safty', As well as their LBs. Where the problem may lie with Trimble as Wickliffe found out, is covering the 4 WRs on short routes. When CH needs to run the ball they will, when they need to pass the ball they will. Personally, I don't think Trimble can stop it. I was sure Wickliffe could with their two D1 committed CBs and they couldn't. I am not saying Trimble cannot run their 3 headed monster with success, but when you take 5 to 6 minutes off the clock and CH comes back and takes 2 minutes to score with the passing game. That may be a bit disheartening. I know Wickliffe felt that pain. Trimble obviously doesn't have a QB that can throw the ball, that is why they Run 92% of the time. That could be the Achilles heel of Trimble. If CH forces Trimble to pass at any time, it will be interesting to see the result of that play.

Best of luck to both teams! It was a hell of a season for both units.

Yeah unless they are in a different region for track or moved up a division, none of them were in the regionals in the 100. So unless they walked the last 60 meters they don't run a 4.43.

JFK is not a bad football team. They won State Title in Div 5, 2 or 3 years ago.
They are a factory for OL for the college ranks.

Since we are evaluating this post...

As a 15 yr scout for Wickliffe, and Willoughby South(home of Kareem Hunt of the Kansas City Cheif) I will weigh in.

Team Speed - Cuyahoga Heights. (Wickliffe has 2-D1 committed CB's and they could not cover the Heights WRs)
Team toughness - Even. I cannot even begin to know that.
Mental toughness - Cuyahoga Heights
Coaching - 22 years as head coach and only lost 17 games total in that time. Plus 2 state runner-ups. Cuyahoga Heights.
Special Team - 2 KO returners running in the Low to Mid 4's 40s with great vision on kickoffs, Punter 45-yard average, FG (3 FG over 40 yards) 6 blocked PAT's. Solid PR, Cuyahoga Heights.

However, the game is not played on paper. Who wants it more will win this game.

There are some mean MF's on Heights! You smack them in the mouth, they come back and will impose their will on you... Better off massaging it and lulling them to sleep. U wake them up, it won't be pretty.

Yeah you're going to have bring receipts. They aren't on Baum's page at the state track meet.
