ONLY IF THEY COME OUT FOR THE TEAM! You don't get to pick!ravensfan09 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 7:27 pmWell...GalliaGrad78....let me break it down for you. If you have 350 boys its easier to come up with 11 good players than if you have 140. You have more to pick from. Xs and Os matter, but Jimmy's and Joe's make it go!GalliaGrad78 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 27, 2019 4:11 pmI disagree about the school size comment. Size doesn't matter if the boys don't come out for the team. Coaching is what matters.ravensfan09 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 2:47 pm
Totally agree. I believe Gallia is the biggest school in the conference. They should be consistently good!

Can they replace what they lost ? Time and coaching will tell good luck!
Re: 2019 Gallia Academy Blue Devils Outlook
Gallia will be ready to defend their OVC title. The boys know its next man up, and it's already showing in the weight room. Coach P will have them ready come summers end.

I still say Gallia will win or be a close 2nd next year. Portsmouth no better than 3-5 next year. Rock Hill could suprise also

9-1
If they whack the West Virginians, maybe 10-0 is a possibility. They'll have to switch from a power team to a speed team. That said, it helps when you have Williams, Woodson, Armstrong, Donovsky, and a massive line for them to run behind. This team will be scary good.
Look for QB Vanco to turn some heads too.

QB ? Other than Armstrong who might have big eyes ? IRONTON WILL be good this season !

They obviously took enough hits to win the OVC! By the way, you got to catch them before you can hit them.

Is there an inside runner coming up? What about QB? I can't remember who played backup/JV last year.
Re: 2019 Gallia Academy Blue Devils Outlook
Vanco is front runner for QB. Has a great arm and isn't afraid to let it go. Beasley and Cade Roberts would be inside runners would be my guess. A lot of speed on the outside and in the slots. Wouldn't be surprised to see GA run the wildcat. O-Line will be bigger than last yr.GalliaGrad78 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 25, 2019 3:13 pm Is there an inside runner coming up? What about QB? Re: 2019 Gallia Academy Blue Devils Outlook
Is the Vanco kid who was QB when that group was in JR high? If so, has he improved his footwork? I thought he was a bit sluggish and lacked speed. I do think he had a decent arm. But definitely not a threat running the ball. If he is indeed the starter, he will need his line to step up and allow him to be a pocket passer. Which I believe GA will have the line to do that. But overall, I see the Devils being a running team. Jet sweeps, a lot of off tackle, not as much inside the tackles. Passing will be more swing passes and bubble screens. Get the ball in the hands of the skill players early and allow them to create.
Re: 2019 Gallia Academy Blue Devils Outlook
They will run inside the tackles. They have the studs up front and skill to do it!!!
Re: 2019 Gallia Academy Blue Devils Outlook
If you get a chance take a look at Armstrong he will be able to power run or speed run. You can see the size and strength he is adding

You might be right. I have't seen that group since they were in 7th and 8th grade.
