1:55 to go 1st quarter in the D3 Title game

7-6 Kenston just took the lead.

I’m not sure if their female kicker just made history but she’s the 1 point difference.

They just announced that yes, Anna Sanders has made history. First Female to score in a State Title game.

If you get on the OHSAA site you can track the games, plus if you hit the twitter feeds they show the TD plays.

Last week 8-0 on Friday. 1-5 on Saturday.

Akron Hoban
Kenston
Kirtland
Colerain
McComb
Orrville
Wyoming

Scooter Sunshine Happy Mcgavin said I wasn’t allowed to pick Trimble. I honored his wishes. I will definitely be cheering for Trimble on Saturday Morning and if schedule allows heading up to see this one.

Late tonight I will finish up the News and Notes for the Friday and Saturday Finals. The D2 notes are on the bottom of page 8. Not Division VIII. Page VIII.
You could have made a lot of $ if you would have bet my picks on Friday’s and then bet against my picks on Saturday.

Kenston Up 21-6 3rd quarter after forcing Alter to punt to start the 2nd half

Thanks! I watched this morning. Yes, I paid $9.99 to watch Kirtland v Marion and now I feel all hollow inside.

I use their radio feed. They do a nice job calling the games and they are neutral ( for the most part).

Probably going to spend another $9.99 to watch Trimble tomorrow morning as tonight will be a late night scouting (basketball) and then have to be at a game tomorrow so I can’t make the trip.

If the attendance figures are any suggestion, Massillon v Hoban notwithstanding for obvious reasons, the people are tired of going to Stark County.

Marion Local v Kirtland: 4380 for attendance. There’s no reason why this couldn’t have been #4 or #5 in attendance across all seven games. Should’ve beat the D3 game, which had notoriously poor travelers Kettering Alter (6300.) They’ll definitely get out attended by D4 Wyoming/Girard and D7 McComb/Trimble, now.

D1, Colerain v Ed’s was 8927. The D1 final two years ago in Columbus between St X and I’s was 13690. That’s a 34% drop.

I watched the Marion Local v Kirtland game and I don’t think there were more than a handful of casual fans. The towns showed up — perhaps The Marion Local people not at full force after all those titles — but I noticed very few people in attendance that were there just to take in a football game. 10:00 am and northern Ohio usual cold (although the weather wasn’t terrible) climate contributed to that. But, I agree that this should not be a permanent home.

It is a great place to play a football game though. NFL opens their season here every year and The Hall of Fame etc...

We need to find another venue like Jackson with a little more seating for some of the smaller division, the Band seemed so far away and the stadium is not loud at all maybe better if they enclose the other side but the acoustics were not good for a loud playoff game! My thoughts

How about Peden Stadium at OU and Jackson for the championship games? I know it's a half baked idea, but I'd still like to see it happen at least once.

Home field advantage is monumental in high school football.

No one played on their home field in the State finals, nor semis, nor quarter finals. Try again.

Yeah being able to sleep in your own bed and drive less than an hour to a game is huge in high school football.

I was in Columbus Friday with my wife who had a conference. Had the games been in Columbus I would have drove over and watched one maybe two games.

Stark county will never give them up. Stark count fairgrounds make to much money on parking. Wonder who’s pockets get lined for that? Also, don’t give me the crap of the games are getting played at the NFL Hall of game. I bet if you asked every kid playing HS football if you had the choice between playing at The Shoe or Tom Benson field, first they ALL would say who is Tom Benson and secondly they ALL would say play at the Shoe!! Sad that the kids don’t get a say in this.

Also, paladin is still a pud!!!!
