Re: Who wins Region 27?
My vote goes to the Cats.
They are talented, deep, and well coached.
If they don't win the region it will be an upset IMO.

Re: Who wins Region 27?
An upset? Lucas lost to Trimble by one point last year and both teams brought back a ton. Do not sleep on Lucas. Grover ran for 350 yards and 6 TDs last week vs D4 Harrison Central. If they played today, I would say it would be closer to a pick em than anything. IMO, this Saturday's Lucas vs Cincinnati Aiken game will shed more light on this region. Trimble lost by a point to Cincinnati Christian Hills who lost to Cincinnati Indian Hill by 26. Aiken beat Indian Hill by 9. As for Harvest Prep, who knows....their schedule is garbage.
Re: Who wins Region 27?
HP will win out & be the #1 seed unless Lucas wins out. Simply due to schedule, Trimble can't catch HP but Lucas can. Lucas needs a win this week over 5-2 D4 Aiken, this would secure them a lot of points. They should be River in week 9 grabbing a decent amount of points. Now, the week 10 game vs. Lima Central Catholic is a long shot but if Lucas can pull it off, they should jump to #1 easily. IMO Lucas will lose to LCC, HP will stay #1 and Trimble/Lucas will jokey for #2 & #3 then end up playing in round two. That winner will go on to take the Region.
Re: Who wins Region 27?
I agree. HP wins out. If Lucas wins this week (Pasteur has them by 3 so a 50/50 shot), and assuming they beat River and lose to LCC, they more than likely will beat out a 9-1 Trimble for the #2 seed at 7-3. Trimble's schedule is turning out to be pretty weak (62 of 108 in Division 7). A win vs LCC would definitely get Lucas the #1 seed. Keep an eye on LCC next week. They play 6-1 Troy Christian whom Lucas beat. This will give us an idea of whether Lucas has a shot vs them. It's all taking shape. Cannot wait to see how it turns out. Any way you cut it, THIS IS A THREE TEAM BATTLE FOR THE REGION 27 CROWN.MillSt wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 10:14 am HP will win out & be the #1 seed unless Lucas wins out. I haven't seen the 2019 schedules yet...where did you get this info?formerfcfan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 06, 2018 10:09 am FC was up 26-14 at half. Worthington Christian comes back to win in the fourth. 40-29. WC is well-coached, big line. Ugh... this one hurts.
On a different note, looks like Lucas is coming to Lancaster next season in week 9.

LCC has a bye this week. They play TC next Friday. But you're right, this game will give us here on the discussion board a little more insight. And I agree, 3 team race for the region.dnis30 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 11:40 amI agree. HP wins out. Re: Who wins Region 27?
My opinion, this region goes to Trimble or Lucas, unfortunately, its shaping up that Trimble and Lucas will meet in the 2nd round. If HP and Waterford meet in 2nd round, look for Waterford to win that one
Its all in the hips
Re: Who wins Region 27?
Agreed. I could see Waterford getting past HP. Their scores and schedule do not impress me.Happy McGavin wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 1:42 pm My opinion, this region goes to Trimble or Lucas, unfortunately, its shaping up that Trimble and Lucas will meet in the 2nd round. Re: Who wins Region 27?
Prep like always has athletes but this isn't like basketball and their football teams over the years have never imposed their will on teams in the playoffs on a consistent basis. Their football teams never have liked physical play, just don't let'em get an angle and get loose because they 'll be gone. They want a track meet.

Re: Who wins Region 27?
Very unlikely. The two teams that both of them have played: HP beat Worthington Christian 16-12 and beat Berne Union 22-7. On the other hand, Fisher lost to Berne Union 27-13 and lost to Worthington Christian 40-29.

Re: Who wins Region 27?
Don't sleep on Lucas. They ran for 583 yards (21st all-time in Ohio HS football history) against D4 Cadiz Harrison Central last week. They are formidable. They beat D4 Cincinnati Aiken (5-2) on Saturday night...look out.

Re: Who wins Region 27?
Lucas is a running team, stopping the run is Trimbles strength. I hope we get this matchup in the regional finals but its setting up to happen in the 2nd round. Trimble beat them at their place last year so im sure Lucas wants revenge. If/when this game happens it should be a dandy. For what its worth calpreps has Trimble as a 6 point favorite against Lucas

That line seems legit. What about vs HP?Happy McGavin wrote: ↑Thu Oct 11, 2018 1:56 pm Lucas is a running team, stopping the run is Trimbles strength. Trimble vs. Lucas would be a great match up. Both teams strength on Offense is running and it's also both teams strength on Defense. Both teams have the ability to drive down the field and not rely on the big play, they can sustain 10-14 play drives. I don't see how these two aren't #2 & #3 in the region. Lucas is good but I don't see them beating LCC in their final game but if they do, they should jump to #1 and HP will have to play Trimble in rd2.
