Not sure I think they would have to share with the overtime game to decide it. Both would settle for a share I’m sure both deserve a share.

Uh....so if Chilly wins vs Jackson they are FAC Champ and Hillsboro not?

Nope. Hillsboro all but locked in, winner of Jackson/Chilly is a co champ with Hillsboro

If WCH and Jackson defeats Chilli then Hillsboro would win by default because of the head to head match up

IF WCH defeats Chillicothe there will be no way for Jackson to win the title. Yes if Chillicothe beats Jackson they would be the lone league champs. they would still have the head to head match up against Hillsboro.

This some sort of specific FAC guideline?

it's widely understood that in sports the head to head match up will always decide a league/conference title

I'm not familiar with the FAC bylaws, but that's usually not the case in high school sports. It's not like college football, for example, where the winner of a division is being crowned so they can move on to a championship game.

I'm more than willing to admit it if I'm wrong, but my guess would be that head-to-head isn't used as a tiebreaker. To me, Hillsboro will clinch a share of the FAC title with a win next week. They'll share it with Chillicothe if the Cavs beat Jackson, or they'll share it with Jackson if the Ironmen beat Chillicothe. Two 4-1 teams in conference play will be a shared championship.

Again, I could definitely be wrong since the FAC is a new league and could have adopted a head-to-head policy in their bylaws, but that's not the way several other leagues handle it.

for instance look at GAHS tonight, they have won the OVC championship outright even with a loss next week. it's been the talk of the town all week. Because they beat Ironton tonight they would have the head to head match up and still be the champs.

I will gladly admit if I'm wrong as well.

I suppose that could be true. It makes sense record-wise. doesn't make much sense in the overall scheme.

So you don’t actually know for sure?...but it’s widely known?

Widely known in travel ball when you’re trying to get the 1 seed. 🙄

I have not read the by-laws. However, it is widely known in sports that the head to head would be the deciding factor. whether or not the FAC is smart enough to follow the norm I'm not sure.

If Jackson wins they’ll have beaten Chillicothe , something Hillsboro couldn’t do

Jackson has to beat Chilli first , which is a long shot

Who told you there was a head to head tie-breaker? Was it me? Was it a league AD? No, no one told you. You made it up and you were wrong. You messed this up so just sit there...or leave, I don’t care :D

You spouted off and you are wrong. If Hillsboro beats McClain they will be Co champs with Jackson/Chillicothe winner. I gave you a chance to say maybe you weren’t positive but you instead just let me know it was widely known. Head to head with only 5 games would be dumb. The Rockies/Dodgers and Cubs/Brewers just played 162 games and they were tied....and you know what they did, they played a tie-breaker to determine champion.

And I did get it from a league AD....and multiple other conferences do it the same. Whether you or I agree with it is moo.

Wow, I'm so glad that you are right! do you want a cookie? Are we competing to see who was right. I told you when I replied to you that I would admit if I was wrong. I'm so glad that you were able to carry on the Ironmen way of badgering. You're so good at that! you make Jackson PROUD!!
