Coach is simply pursuing an administrative position at Meigs or anywhere else. He has not taken nor been offered one anywhere. He resigned as it is not fair to the kids and the program to wait until summer and resign then.

If this is true and it looks like it is..... there has been a big shake up in the Hocking this year.

Wahama, Fed, and now Southern are looking for new head coach's. If you count the new guy at Belpre that makes 4 out of 9.

They had a good coach in place but a few board members ran him out cause they wanted a certain guy to coach the little Johnny superstars. They should have left things alone and they wouldn't be searching for a new coach, AGAIN! SMDH

Really? You can not be serious? Wickline just didn't get "it!" As a head coach you have to be proficient in people skills & earn the respect of the athletes & his coaching staff. Wickline failed in both departments and it showed on the scoreboard & on the sidelines. When Wickline was replaced by Chancey I seen a 100% change in the players attitude, appearance & sportsmanship. Personal fouls / unsportsmanlike conduct penalties with Wickline at the helm were 5+ a half, after Chancey took over there may have been 5 in the 2 seasons. The record speaks for itself.

Wickline took Southern football from the doormat of the league to playoffs and respectability. He turned the culture around.

Sadly they are about to return to the doormat for the next few years. Takes talent to win no matter who the coach is.

Does Cassady want it? That surprises me as I think he'd be the head guy at Meigs in 5 or so years, but if he wants it then he'd be a great hire.

Big Tony needs to swallow his pride and plead with Wickline to come back. He got railroaded out and now they see that was a mistake. If they would have left him alone he wouldn't be splitting the scene now that the talent pool is shallow.

No I say this is a good hire. Cassady is dedicated and will do good things, especially if most of the staff sticks around. If he has a good defensive coordinator and he can just worry about offense, he should really do good things. Congrats to Coach Willford.

If this guy is gonna win in Racine he needs to get them Grueser boys to show him the single wing. That’s what we was running in 1985 when we won the SVAC. They ain’t been close since we quit running that. If he wants good defense he needs to Tom Smith involved again.
