I wasn't far off. Ironton is not good. [To be honest, Burg has had better teams but this is week 1.]

Tiger fans, I have seen Ashland and Russell play. Be prepared for a running clock in the Ashland game, they have speed speed speed and will score at will. Russell will be a close on but you will get out coached most likely. Then it will be back to the worst conference in Ohio where your team will "really start to gel and come together" before Portsmouth beats you in game 10.

I have to disagree with that. I think this is one of the better teams they have had in a few years. I've never seen a Burg team as a deep as this one. Not a lot of two way players and were subbing in and out quite a bit and not losing a step
I disagree- this team is very deep with a lot more threats than I have ever seen before. A lot of younger threats at that.

on the radio interview of the burg coach, he all but said this might be his best burg team yet. they'll not likely get tested again till the bishop Watterson game. maybe Jackson, but not likely.

Wow! That really happened. Two teams on entirely different levels. I had hopes of Ironton at least making a game of it this year. For Ironton's sake I really hope Burg is just that good, and on their way to a state run. I have nothing but respect for their program and approach in all their sports. My daughter got to witness it first hand. It is special. Best of luck to Burg the rest of the way, and I hope The Tigers regroup and get some wins outside the OVC starting with Russell next week.

Hats off to fairland for playing the burg considering one of the burgs biggest rivals won't play them anymore

Not to make things worse, I saw where Ironton only had 6 yards Rushing. That was per a stat keeper

IMO I wish the series would end. It's been lopsided as of late and I don't feel that this game benefits us ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
doggie as much as it pains me to admit it. I know how you feel. but honestly and in all fairness. this was the same way ironton must have felt about the series up till 2007 where burg had won like 3 to that point if memory serves me correct. especially back then when they were only taking 2 to 4 teams in the playoffs instead of 8. I just don't feel ironton's staff can get the job done anymore against teams like burg.i think they are all wonderful people, but are just not getting it done. but recover well in the ovc. which does a great deal in actuality point wise for burg. ------------------------ but something has to give. we are not winning our ooc games anymore. even though they are unbeaten in ovc play. that just don't cut it for tiger fans spoiled by the past successes. back in the day nobody wanted to play ironton, now everybody that has a team wants to get that feather in their cap. from what I'd been told I thought we had a virtual chance against burg. but again were just completely manhandled in every aspect of the game. anyhow nothing but mad respect for burg, and a friend once told me the best coaching gets done between week 1 n 2. I suppose he meant because the whole off season you've dwelt on that opening opponent. personally I want to see the series continue. I don't think the burg actually has serious intentions of dropping this game before they turn the series to their favor.but is it really good for ironton or burg anymore if they are blowouts with running clocks. I don't think they could live with that thought. ------------------------ anybody know how close this series is now. it has to be very close at this point.

At least this year I'm not gonna have to worst prediction of the season. I was getting used to winning that trophy. I guess all things come to an end eventually. Softball, you are almost right on though.
