I'll guess that there will be a lot of points scored. Unioto wants to control the clock and if they can, they'll be competitive.

Really tough matchup for the Shermans, but at least it isn't in Saint Claresville lol

Shermans need to bring their A game...and also bring some extra credit if they want to stay competitive! I think this is one of the easier regions to play in which could be good for the Shermans! I still think they take a few bumps in this one. I hope I'm wrong and ALL the local teams can pull of some wins!

Last year Unioto was down 49-0 at half and game over. I would love to see Unioto keep this from being a running clock until the 4th quarter. Licking Valley is much like Wyoming last year.
Love to see Unioto into playoffs 2 years in row. However, if Unioto wants to be success in the playoffs playing in the Scioto Valley Conference does not get them playoff ready. For Division 6 or 7 SVC schools can be competitive but for Unioto to want football playoff success they can not schedule Greenfield and Vinton County in the non league. Waverly is OK but Waverly is getting to playoffs but not having success. Unioto needs to schedule Amanda Clearcreek, Circleville, Washington CH or go to Columbus a schedule a City league team to get exposure to Division 4 type teams.

Unioto will show and give there all, letting the chips fall where they may.

As to scheduling, the SVC is adequate. Do you need great athletes first before you are successful with a tough schedule or does a tough schedule create great athletes?
Ask Chillicothe about their football success in the old COL or the OCC.

I think Wyoming was a much much more dominate team than LV... I think it's not accurate to compare those teams.
As for scheduling, there are more factors involved than jus beefing up a schedule...travel, can you compete and does the opposing fans travel well. Let's face it...gate money is a big driving force for scheduling games! However I do agree McClain has to go. They are going to be bad for years...I like the Circleville pickup!

The best solutions is to expand the SVC and have split divisions like the TVC with big schools and small school divisions

Circleville will struggle to win more than two games over the next couple of seasons.

The SVC is not an adequate league for a Division IV school unless you schedule a tough non-league like Westfall and Piketon did back in the day. Both would normally play two playoff teams and a 5-5 type school every year.

Unioto needs to drop McClain and do so asap, but no reason to take Waverly off the schedule (unless they do their impression of Waverly basketball and drop them after 2 losses) as they are a quality D4.

One thing that should be noted is that Unioto has only had 4 winning season since the 1998 season, so it isn't like it was known that this run was coming. It is time to step up the schedule a bit, but I understand why it hasn't been done quite yet.

i agree with the last part. lets not go crazy here and act like this should be done and its crazy that it hasn't been. they are experiencing their 2nd playoff birth in school history, 1st being last year. Let the kids enjoy this ride.

I don’t think the tanks need to change there schedule. Playoffs are just icing on the cake go and do your best. They need to start winning the svc and building the program to a d4 level. Once they can field a freshman team and have mostly one way players at the varsity level and are winning big in the svc year in year out then they can start to think about better teams. I voiced this opinion before and got called a clown though so idk. Imo there is no reason to play state power teams or tuff ooc teams to make you battle tested until your program reaches the stage where you need to think about competing in the playoffs. With the change in regions I do think we can play with several teams in this region but unfortunately the loss to se put us against the most talented team. Tanks just focus on playing your best and try and play a mistake free game.

Unioto could very well find themselves being DIII in a few years with the enrollment boosts that have happened in the lower grades in recent years.

If they go d3 then they won’t have a chance at playoffs. It would be up to the administration if they would make playoff football a priority. If so I agree they would have to leave the svc as well as all the program building I talked about earlier.
