Might want to check on those Jr. High scores.

Have a nice day, too.

I was there. Last year and at the scrimmage this year. Ptown junior high is so bad that they gave up on their game plan and the coach was making up plays on the fly. Got lucky and broke one for a score. Burg dominated.

Just to clarify the Jr. High Scrimmage results
8th grade was total domination by Burg

7th grade was too. ptown had 19 plays get a total of -7 yards and one play went for 62 yards and 6 points. Then in down and distance Ptown got the ball first and proceeded to stall due to fatigue and\or confusion and somehow took 5:38 off the clock (almost 1 minute per play)while only running 6 total plays for 11 yards. so for stats its 26 plays for 55 yards (2.12 ypp) 6 points

Burg gained 51 yards its first 10 plays then drove 65 yards in 3 plays for a score and gained 43 more yards with remaining 7 plays. in D&D they got the ball on their own 25 yard line with :22 left and proceeded to drive 74 yards 5 plays in that time drive ended second and goal on the 1.
so burg stats are 25 plays for 159 yards (6.36 ypp) 6 points

I think a lot of these so called adults need to get a life. Go Trojans! My personal opinion is that Portsmouth won't get beat this year and the Burg is making a huge mistake by starting Salyers over Dyer. Now that all the New Boston kids are gone the Burg is gonna start going down hill. Bahaaa

Grad, I'm not sure why all of the smack talk? Burg absolutely dominated Portsmouth every time they played...nothing to be said IMO.
Good luck to both teams this season!

This is just my opinion. Burg vs PHS not playing each other.
Okay, PHS football has been, for lack of a better word, terrible for some time and
obviously Burg had been the opposite. Now Burg had been getting zero power
points by beating PHS so burg scheduling a stronger opponent will
benefit them overall.
IMO this is a win for the burg. If PHS does indeed have a strong year, how long will
the program stay relevant?
I just need hope PHS has an awesome year. And the two teams do meet in playoffs,
what an atmosphere that will be, not to mention the gate! Shoot the game would
be played locally.
Enjoy this football season and root for your teams and lets play ball!

Agree. I saw Portsmouth play Ironton in the previews and Portsmouth looks very much improved this year and the QB plays really well. Hope Portsmouth and Burg both have outstanding seasons and put football in this part of the state on the map.

There would be nothing better for the region then to see the Pirates and Trojans playing in week 11!
We could all agree that it would be great to see Scioto County and Southern Ohio football back to the power that we are capable of.

If PHS can go 9-1 or 10-0, I'd say you'd could see a second game or a regional
