I'm kind of surprised it took NY this long to start an Athletic Hall of Fame. Most schools have one.

Great news for NYHS. Athletic HOFs are a great way to celebrate the history and heritage of our schools. I'm proud to be a member of Logan's committee.

NY will have a huge number of deserving athletes, coaches, and contributors.

Going to be really something to see where they start. So many good old timers deserve it plus the championship year will get plenty over the next several years.

Will Nelsonville Greyhounds, Murray City Miners, or Buchtel Bruins be considered?

At Logan the Hall of Fame has recognized athletes from schools who consolidated into LHS.

I would think so but I'm not quite sure.
I sure hope so.

A lot of good Greyhounds in the day.

Remember Jamey James played a lot of sport and was good at everything.

I hope the pre-consolidated athletes at the various schools are considered as well. I wish their was some sort of recognition banner regarding special teams from the pre-consolidation years. The Nelsonville Greyhounds last official game in any sport prior to consolidation was winning the State Championship in Baseball. I wish there was a banner for that at Wagner. Same with the state runner up basketball team that the Greyhounds had years ago. Eventually, there will be no one left alive who remembers these teams, so it's important for NYHS to have banners so future kids know what past generations achieved in the various sports.

Sad to think about winning a state title and never hanging the banner.
