it's the burgs to lose. i look for a challenging season with the addition of heath and bishop watterson. it might be a challenge to go 10-0 for a 3rd straight season but i think they can do it

Get the 10-0 out of you head, that is not going to happen.

We will be better come playoff time and very likely be 8-2, but who cares about the regular season record.

Still run the SOC table though.

I kept hearing all last year that this would be a break out year for West.

I have no knowledge of the teams, their returnees, strengths, or weaknesses. That said, Wheelersburg has won 31 of the last 44 golden footballs, so why would anyone expect a different result in 2017?

Waverly will lose some key skill players but there are talented younger players who will fill their roles. In the trenches is where Waverly will have it greatest losses but once again there are some younger guys who is ready to fill those roles. I look for Howell, Wolf and Kritzwiser to have a great year.

Burg will win SOC. And should be battle tested for playoffs. Even if they lose one or two, still should host in week 11.

What does West have this year? I believe there needs to be some improvements over the last 2 years.

Looks like Wheelersburg is the decided favorite with Waverly giving them a race.

i don't see burg losin to fairland or oak hil but with ironton, heath, bishop watterson and jackson bein the first six games. i see the potential of a 5-1 or 4-2 record goin into soc play. i agree with this schedule and the possibility of a bunch of 2nd level point a 9-1 or 8-2 record could still have burg at ed miller in wk 11 unless they move up to D4 which is possible

Is anyone out there from Lucasville? If so, are you hosting Piketon on September 9th?

Unless it's changed within the last two weeks, Valley and Piketon will play - Sept. 8th at Valley.

A lot of interesting teams this year.

1. Burg has 90% of their team back and have a good sophomore class. Expectations high with this team.

2. Waverly isn't going away anytime soon. Very good at running the RPO. Defense is aggressive. Lost their speed guy but have a replacement.

3. West came on strong last season. Played burg and Waverly very tough. Offense isn't that dynamic but effective.

4. Minford loses some players. Has a great incoming freshman class coming in. Probably a year away but they have some talent.

5. Valley same boat with Minford. Young players but talent in places.

I think Burg should end up with the SOC this year. Favorable schedule will help. It burg slips up, I could see a three way tie.

Valley has some good kids coming...very good classes that compete in all sports. Most in Lucasville knew there would be a few rough years. But, wont be too long.

Looking forward to a great season.

Wheelersburg will once again win the league. I think the real question is will they go 10-0. Watterson is the only real question mark. Heath got hit with graduation. Unless they are upset in the Regionals again, they should be in the State Semi-Finals.

Wheelersburg was good last year and will be good again this year. But not dominate. Average Waverly and West teams gave them all they wanted. Both teams will compete with Wheelersburg again this year.

You're kidding yourself on this one. They get both those teams at home. Burg is going to be really good this year.
