Looking forward to the 2017 season. IMO it should have a better record the the 2016 season. Not that the boys did a bad job last year they were just underclassman heavy. Experience on the line will help this year. The Ruff boys and Yates are good hard nose players. I'd like to see what Braedon Spatar brings to the table this year also.

Yep, NY has Trimble, Mumford, and Waverly. I would guess week 2 they will play Newark Catholic.

I'd go 7-3/6-4. Not knowing what the Dublins bring back. I still think they will be rough games. The toss up games for me are TV, Sheridan, Chilly and maybe Athens.

Looks like 6-4 now , with a possible shot at 7-3. I hear Sheridan will be down.

Here's a look at the 10-12th graders who should compete for spots next fall:

Offense

Quarterback:
Brady Walsh (Senior) returns after passing for 886 yards and 11 touchdowns (against 5 INTs). Completed just over 40% of his passes (68-168). The team really struggled to throw the ball early in the year partly due to protection issues. Walsh rushed for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 93 carries (including sacks).

Braeden Spatar (Sophomore) piloted the JV team as a freshman last season and performed well. Another year of growth should help improve his ability to deliver the ball to receivers. He is a slippery runner.

Running Back (A-Back):
Preston Yates (Junior) ran for 403 yards and two touchdowns on 85 carries (4.7 per rush). Largely split carries with Jeremy Minor last season. Hard runner who could break out next season.

Backing up Yates could be Issac Baron (Senior), Trevor Huffines (Sophomore), or any of the "B" backs listed below. Baron played here for the JV team last fall before an injury cut his season short. Huffines played largely for the freshman team last season.

H-Back (B-Back):
Colton and Conner Ruff (Sophomores) each split time here last season along with Jeromy Weaver (Junior) and Shane Souders (Junior). Weaver missed most of last season due to injury. Colton Ruff rushed six times for 23 yards while Conner ran twice for four yards. Souders ran three times for 11 yards.

Wide Receiver (X):
David Talbott (Senior) emerged in the receiver and DB rotation last year, catching one pass for 7 yards. Charlie Kline (Sophomore) has the size and athletic ability to lead the team in catches next season if he can earn the starting job and stay healthy.

Wide Receiver (Z):
Casey Heft (Senior), Landon Little (Junior), and Talbott should all compete and likely rotate at the other receiver spot. Heft caught one pass for three yards and Little added eight catches for 77 yards. Little rushed for 22 yards on six carries.

Slot Receiver (Y or H):
Tyler Cummin (Junior) returns in the slot but did not catch a pass last season likely due to wearing a cast. He's a solid blocker and rushed for 57 yards on 8 carries. Little played some in the slot last season. Braeden Spatar could also emerge in the slot like Walsh did as a sophomore two years ago.

Tight End (Y):
Sam Hall (Junior) played some in relief of Tommy Breining last fall but did not catch a pass. That should change next season for the 6'4 junior, especially if he can work on his awareness and tracking the ball in the air. Cymon Rooker (Senior) also played in more blocking situations. Trevor Wolfe (Junior) could break into the line-up as well.

Left Tackle:
I expect Kamryn Carter (Senior) to slip back to tackle from center to replace Kory Henthorne. Nick Baker (Senior) or Lance Edwards (Junior) could emerge as well.

Left Guard:
Dakota Dement (Senior) is a returning starter at LG. Lance Edwards (Juniro) or Trevor Wyckoff (Sophomore) will also compete.

Center:
Carson Miller (Sophomore) was the center for the JV team last year as a freshman. Carter could stay at center if someone else emerges at left tackle.

Right Guard:
Dakota Stiffarm (Senior) and Clay Risch (Junior) will both compete for the RG and RT positions, along with Trevor Wyckoff (Sophomore).

Right Tackle:
Dakota Stiffarm (Senior) and Clay Risch (Junior) will both compete for the RG and RT positions, along with Trevor Wyckoff (Sophomore). Tucker Wilson (Senior) could also compete at RT.

Kicker:
Charlie Kline (Sophomore) should open the season as the teams kicker after converting 14 of 19 PATs and 2 of 3 FGs (27NG, 35G, 41G). Those were the first two field goals by a Logan kicker since 2010.

Other Offensive Players:
Sam Kisor (Sophomore) was injured and missed most of last season and could compete all across the offensive line.
