Don't know anything about Hoban, but here is a recent story on a new $6.6 million athletic facility they recently opened.

http://www.ohio.com/news/break-news/pri ... y-1.639721

Interesting quote in the article..."Del Medico said 75 percent of Hoban's 855 students play sports. The new facility, while meeting their needs, will help coaches recruit prospects." Lol, well alrighty then there you have it straight from the AD's mouth lol.

tOSU 2017 recruit Danny Clark and a cast of very talented receivers I think may be the key to this game. If Zanesville can neutralize them at all in the air I believe they have the ability to win the line of scrimmage. Be interesting match-ups.

See if Zanesville can slay another private school dragon.

Hoban's new facility will help them "recruit" prospects the same way it would at any other school, public or private.

As far as the actual game goes, Zanesville has the talent and coaching to knock off Hoban. It will take a flawless effort and some good fortune but they aren't terribly outgunned in this match-up.

On point 1 recruiting, performed by public or private, is not allowed see OHSAA bylaws. Shocked the AD actually said in a media interview it would help coaches recruit prospects. Since when do coaches lol have the role of admitting or accepting transfers into either a public or private school. That statement is a Freudian slip of what he actually meant to say, which is of course not allowed. But whatever, let's keep on topic here and talk about the game.

Zanesville may have been D2 last year, but even dropping a division to D3 this year they are facing a program chock full of special players. I think unfortunately Hoban runs away in this one.

From what I seen of zanesville unless it was the defense they were running and honestly still didn't see quality coverage from the secondary. If Hoban has the Wrs to throw it around they'll take it by 2-3 scores

Common opponents would be New Philadelphia.

NP played Hoban in the playoffs and won, although it was not a blow-out. Zanesville played NP in regular season and that was their only loss in OT.

Zanesville needs this Friday to be a cold, windy, miserable night. If Hoban forced to run it plays into Blue Devils defensive strength.

End of the day, Hoban on top I think.

Hoban was beat up week 11 after playing Cleveland Beannies week 10. Hoban got up 21-0 and cruised to the win. Idk if Zanesville can defend the pass at that level

Apparently two of Jackson's TDs last Friday were passes. I read on the Week 12 thread after they defeated Watterson where they had only passed the ball 4-5 times in Week 11 & 12. I don't think Jackson is known as a passing team. So you are right the Zanesville secondary will be tested by a team that really does throw the ball, unless as I said it is a windy, rainy night which I think will help the Ville. Clark is the real deal and he has some athletes at WR.

I remember last year Athens and Tri Valley spread killed Zanesville. This year they only faced run teams. It's hard to tell if they can defend the pass this year.
