Who are some good candidates?

I'd go after a young assistant ready to do the job. Give him 3 years to see what he can do. I don't know who those people are though.

I think they should bring in an outsider

A guy from way outside the area is already showing interest from what I understand, not sure if there is any truth to that.

Are they going to try to pay more than one assistant?

Raider to answer your question I do believe they were paying more than one assistant, when Phillips came in that was part of the "deal" to reel him in. I was told that when the School Nurse left they cut that salary in half to create room for paid assistants. I have not heard any names yet, the Job was posted on OHSAA yesterday evening says the deadline is Jan. 27 for applications so probably have a better idea in a few more weeks. Their are a few assistants who may throw their hats in the ring as well. My opinion is bring in someone from outside the area that is young and excited to go to work. This is getting to be pretty tough on Wellston. I don't expect winning seasons every year but I would like to have a coach stay longer than a couple years and really try to build something that is at least competitive at this point.

Not sure about "outstanding," but he certainly is available.

Don't forget Kelly Wolfe, who would be "an outstanding" choice.

Holy crap! Let me guess. More mom's are mad about little Timmy s playing time. That place is a graveyard for coaches. However if we can beg dutch to come back we should do so at this point.

The BEST thing about people from Wellston is that they have JACKSON on their license plates!

I think you're the man for the job O&B. You seem extremely knowledgeable in your posts on here. Give it a shot, and take Davie with you if you need help.
