Big red coach loses the game

Post by sibibis45 »

Stuebanvilles coach tries a long field goal with a minute some to go. Five yards to go. The kicker missed an extra point badley. Instead of gong for it and making Hartley go the whole field the kicker and holder shanks it again Hartley takes it back runs a few plays and kicks a field goal to win the game.

So the kicker missed an extra point?? Does this mean the kicker wasn't capable of making the field goal?? How far was it?? Also after Hartley got the ball back, shouldn't the defense step up and make a play and keep them out of field goal range?? Final was 24-21 so game was tied when he was trying to get the game winning kick then. Guess I have to wonder where was it that the COACH lost the game?? Sounds as if you were wanting them to try and play for overtime, who says what Hartley does with it if he decides not to kick the field goal. Maybe he didn't like his teams chances if it went to OT, maybe he knows his kicker can make that kick and wanted the lead. Has to be a parent who started this post, they're the ones who typically place all blame on the coaches for a loss.

The holder Charlie Brown'd the kicker! And the miss was returned to FG territory on a nice play by the Hartley LB. great game to watch, two groups of kids laid it all on the line!

I overheard someone in the Stuby crowed saying "Reno is throwing the game" just before the snap on the FG attempt. Might have had something to do with the Mafia looking guys who escorted him on and off the field before and after the game.
