11 at a time but many times more kids more depth. This might be the deepest burg team I have seen. If your playing 14-15 kids with many of those going both ways the majority of the time against a team that's playing 25-26 kids with very few going both ways who do you think we be fresher come the 4th?

Burg has 59 players 10-12 as always freshman don't dress or play on fridays very few burg players go both ways maybe 3-4 kids do but when you can sub in and out every other play and not skip a beat that's impressive but as always when your at tank it's 15 vs 11

no denying that or even trying to. but ironton has experienced that for decades with the desales, wattersons, Johnson centrals, belfrys, logans, zanesvilles, Athens, jacksons and logans of the state. no denying being able to sub out entire units. that is hard to cope with. with a mess of frosh on ironton's team and only 7 seniors. it will have to be a braveheart , hurculeon effort to compete, and win. and get better every play every down. it's just not about this year but the future of ironton football. wheelersburg will be a beast this year no doubt, and in a weak soc top to bottom. they won't probably be even tested other than possibly ironton, Watterson and Jackson. they are a bear. but bears can be slain. just takes a break here n there and stay in the game. you know burg is going to try to light up our secondary to try to get a running clock. simply have to protect the edges, play sound secondary ball, and pressure the qb, but not at the expense of having a soft interior games, all hearts n eyes have to be clear.

I may have misinformed or duped somehow. somebody on facebook told me with frosh they had 104 out. if so I feel like a bluegill that just got snagged on a teeny hook with a big juicy waxworm on it and yanked to shore.i just relayed what I hear at about 7am this morning.

What's funny is to comment about a scrimmage from something you heard and not even go.

Ironton played better than West I thought. Varsity was 1 to 0 Ironton with all starters. West dropped 2 passes that should have been TD's or long plays. West ran out of the 10 plays inside the 5 once.

Both teams subbed some and it was 1 to 1.

Ironton JV scored a couple times on West with basically all freshmen in.

Ironton got the better of the scrimmage, but it was a scrimmage and hardly was it 4 to 1 varsity. 3 of West's better players didn't play also.

West people have respect for Ironton and their history. Really enjoyed the series before and wish we could play.

Ironton line was better on both sides of the ball. West backs never had a chance. Irontons QB threw the ball on time, wests QB didn't look as good. Both defenses looked pretty good

Burg has no plans or interest in dropping Ironton only thing burg wants is to smack those pansy cry babies from Portsmouth in the mouth
