Dayton Dunbar, Forfeits final 2 games.

DIV region 16 got shook up just a bit as Dayton Dunbar forfeits final 2 games of the year and propels Taft into the playoffs as a result.

It also effected other regions. Princeton dropped from 8 to 9 (Anderson moved up) losing L2 points from Dunbar. A team getting L2 points from the forfeit moved up from 9 to 8 in another region tossing Piqua out of the top 8.

Didn't even think about the other regions it could've effected. WOW. Talk about a turn of events for teams, some good some bad.

Sadly when things like this happen in the bigger cities, I am never shocked.

How many players were ineligible the last 2 games?? Because if it was just 1, I can't imagine a coach taking a chance just because of a single player final 2 games of the year like that. Just be glad it was caught now and not later, messed things all up right now but it's an easy fix. Could've really messed with teams if it was caught say week or 2 from now.

OHSAA needs to revise the procedures for these instances down the road. It should only be a negated W, not a forfeit. No one should get bounced out of the playoffs because they get leapfrogged by a team that got an L2 out of a forfeit win.

On the flip side, no team should be rewarded for level 2 points that were never earned from a win that was forfeited. Pique was getting points off a team that did not in fact win.
