Kelly Stiwell...pitcher at Ohio State during their NCAA championship in the 60.
If i remember right Kelly relieved Steve Arlin in the championship game.

Where did Mitch Wright go to college?

Wasn't it Bob McBride that went to Notre dame

Ervin back in the 60's went to OSU for football

Jeff Montgomery (Marshall, KC Royals HOF and all-star)

Sydney Compston OU softball

Allan Hammond and Chafin from the 80's both played fairly high minor league baseball....not sure if they did college first

Chris Hammond play at Akron baseball?

Definitely some others I'm leaving out

I think another list that should be started would be a list of players who went on to play a college sport, and last all 4 years playing the sport and finishing school. I think it would be surprising how few there are compared to the list of those who begin. Any size school.

Yes, Bob McBride (Class of 1940) played at Notre Dame. Left to go fight in WWII, was a POW during the Battle of the Bulge, went back to South Bend to finish his career. He was a starter pre-war, then came back and was a sub his senior year. He was so highly regarded by teammates he was made the Captain for the "Game of the Century" against Army in 1946.

He also coached ND's offense line for 5 seasons under Frank Leahy.

Main reason I changed the topic is because there are pro players that have and are playing from small colleges. Just going to the next level after high school means a lot rather small or major.
