Waverly 49 River Valley 14

Post by LMC »

Tigers make the trip to River Valley for a week 10 matchup. I don't know much about River Valley, so maybe some others could inform us of what Waverly is going up against. This is a must win game for the Tigers if they want any chance at getting a home playoff game.

Without knowing anything about River Valley the Tigers must have a great week of preparation and play this game with great intensity like last night and not like a week ago.

No real common opponents but Waverly did play NY in a foundation game. That was early but I am sure anyone from Nelsonville would bet on the Tigers. That being said it is time to buckle down and get ready for a tough playoff run. A win here is critical to Home Field Advantage in Game one of the playoffs and Tigers will still need help from teams they have defeated. Tigers are in a very tough region.

Should the Tigers win Friday its going to come down to second level points unless Archbishop Alter gets beat.
Only .0311 separates Waverly and Alter.

Alter plays D4 6-3 Chaminade Julienne while Waverly plays D5 6-3 River Valley.
1. If both win, Alter gets more first level points for beating the bigger school.
2. Then you have to break down who River Valley has beaten vs who Julienne has beaten for their second level points.
Julienne wins: D4, D3, D6, D5, D3, D4
River Valley wins: D7, D4, D5, D5, D5, D3
(more second level points there for Alter)
3. Second level points from teams playing Friday night
WAVERLY: Piketon, Zane Trace, Unioto should win. Caldwell is a possible win. Minford & Valley play each other. Fairland and West are very unlikely to win.
Piketon plays a D6, ZT plays a D5, Unioto plays a D6, Caldwell plays a D7, Minford is D5 while Valley is D6.
ALTER: D3 4-5 Carroll plays D4 5-4 Fenwick (guaranteed points), D5 2-7 Roger Bacon plays D6 3-6 Purcell Marian (guaranteed points), D4 2-7 Badin plays D3 3-6 McNicholas (guaranteed points). Kettering Fairmont most likely will lose, D3 4-5 Thurgood Marshall should beat D5 2-7 Shroder and D2 2-7 Xenia plays D2 2-7 Fairborn so that's a toss up.

It appears Alter has a good chance of passing the Tigers with a win Friday night but it just depends on how it all plays out.

ONE THING WE KNOW - THE TIGERS HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF WHAT THEY CAN CONTROL AND THAT IS WINNING FRIDAY NIGHT!

Waverly proved they can play well in the slop last week. This will be a slaughter.

It had rained all day Friday and the field at Minford was bad. That obviously didn't hurt Waverly. What will matter is if it's cold, raining and blowing during the game.

Actually had nothing to do with whether or not I thought RV could play with Waverly, I don't think they can. I was seriously asking how the field was last I seen it it was tore up pretty bad. It's week 10 don't want to see any injury to field conditions. Someone from RV would have to answer field conditions.

The field is fine. RV has played an entire injury free season and have played an entire game vs. Wellston in the rain on the field......as for the game....RV will be a heavy underdog......so was Penn State

So RV is going to have a week off, planned white out and 100K+ at the game?? :D If that's the case Waverly's offense and special teams best come to play. The Wellston game was a month ago, I seen it after the VC game from 10 days ago and it looked tore up, which was why I was asking.
