Thursday night at Canal Winchester the home team Indians prepared to battle undefeated Franklin Heights. Canal enter,3-4 and was without two starters, who was suspended earlier in the week. The WWHO TV broadcast did not appear to be much of a contest and when all was said and done, it was about as ugly as most figured it to be.

The Falcons first drive was like a gut shot that happened during the old west days, and those who know the old West know that most died from the shot. And that is basically what happened in this game. The Falcons got things started with a pass from Dylan Akers to Brenden Knox for a 9-yard gain. Knox broke a tackle on his way to the gain, with the clock reading 11:22. Akers connected with Tyler Rhodes, good for another 9-yards, at the 10:59 mark of the quarter. Akers would drop back to pass and find Adjrain Settler for a big 34-yard gain, with 10:07 showing on the clock to end the 4-play,62-yard drive and give his team a,6-0 lead. The point after kick by James Morgan III increased the lead to,7-0.

The Indians offense lost 14-yards, when a snap from center was off mark, causing a fumble that was recovered by Myron Johnson, with 9:47 left in the opening quarter.

The first quarter was moving at a rapid pace and with 5:24 left in it the Falcons faced a fourth and nine and tried to run a fake punt. Adjrain Settler would come up about 2-yards short.

At the 4:40 mark Darren Davis picked up 14-yards, giving the Indians a first down, but Davis was hurt on the play. Just :33 later Nick Tiell hit by the Falcons Cody Little for a 4-yard loss. The Indians would punt the ball a few seconds later.

The Falcons would go for it on 4th and six, with :39 seconds left in the quarter. A pass would be incomplete, once again turning the ball over to the Indians.

The Falcons offense ended a 4 play,61-yard drive with a Akers to Settler 40-yard score, with 8:27 left in the half. The point after kick made this a,14-0 game.

The Indians offense had only put up 7-yards of offense on 17-plays. The gut shot from the first drive was slowly causing the Indians to bleed out. A process that was made a little faster when the Falcons went 80-yards on 9 plays to score again, to end the half. The scoring play was another Aker pass, this time to James Morgan, from 16-yards out. The point after made this a,21-0 game, with the teams heading into the locker room.

The Falcons would score again, with 6:54 left in the third. The scoring play came on an Akers pass to Settler, from 6-yards out. The point after kick was good to make the score28-0.This drive total 54-yards on 8-plays.

The Indians offense suffered a sack on quarterback Stanton Smith by the Falcons #9(Not on the roster, I have) forcing a punt on the next play.

The Falcons got a 30-yard completion from Akers to Morgan, with 1:53 left in the quarter. :20 seconds later, Akers connected with Settler for a 35-ayrd gain. The Akers to Settler combo ended the drive with a 15-yard touchdown completion, with 1:28 left in the quarter. The point after kick made this a,35-0 game.

The Indians offense would avoid the shutout when Tiell broke free for a 51-yard score. The point after kick by Trevor Thompson made it a,35-7 contest, with 11:44 remaining.

The Falcons would waste little time answering the Indians score, as they needed just 2-plays to go 58-yards. The score came on a 33-yard run by Brenden Knox. The point after kick put the Falcons up.42-7.

The Indians would get a 52-yard run by Tanner Conley, with 1:50 left. Then with 1:19 left Smith hit Drake Burris for a 23-yard score. The point after kick made the final score,42-14.
