Re: WK7 TVC Athens (4-2, 2-0) @ Meigs (3-3, 1-2)
I think Athens is the better team but they were supposed to be the better team against Logan.
I'll say the dogs pull away late for a 14 point win.

Meigs secondary (if you believe what you read from some) is their strength.
Game at Meigs.
If they can turn this into an "ugly" type of game Athens may be vulnerable.
Not sure if Meigs is physical up front to push opposing lines around, but if they can it may be a pick-em type of game.

After all the injuries last week and weeks before meigs is just to band up lost more lineman and another QB.never heard of so many injuries they don't seem be able to catch a break.

Your source must be slipping Ironman99, Helton is fine and practicing.

If the officials are the same ones Meigs had vs RV they will keep it close for a half then Athens line play will dominate in the second half.

Your coach bartrum said he had a concussion on the radio didn't think you could play with a concussion. Maybe coach was wrong.

It's is a possibility that he was cleared to practice on Monday.
I believe the OHSAA recommends that players slowly assimilate back to full practice a day at a time but it's up to each school really.
It could have been a light concussion and his systems have gone away.
Whatever the case, he can not practice or play until released by a doctor.

I thought OHSAA protocol following the discovery of a concussion was something like this:
Wait (no practice) until there are no further signs (headaches, dizziness, etc.) after the event that caused the concussion.
Once that occurs and there are no signs you can then practice (no contact) but must report no signs occur during this practice.
At the end of that time period you can engage in contact.
My understanding that basically it was a minimum of a week off.

If the doctor clears a player on Monday to practice their is nothing from stopping him from playing on Friday.Dandy Don wrote:I thought OHSAA protocol following the discovery of a concussion was something like this:

He was checked for a concussion during game, and a lump was found behind his ear...the lump behind ear is why he didn't return to play. They recommended going to doctor over weekend. However, over the weekend the knot went away and he was fine and practiced on Monday, because he had no signs of a concussion at all. The knot was not from the hit, it was from his helmet.

Well then nothing to do with concussion and all that above was for not, lol.ma77ox wrote:He was checked for a concussion during game, and a lump was found behind his ear...the lump behind ear is why he didn't return to play. O&B I think you are wrong though just for record, more to it now than a Doc giving clearance, pretty sure OHSAA has some recommended time frames that everyone must abide by. No more just going to doc and saying hey I am good let me play.

They don't. The recommend that players slowly reaclomate to practice but once a doctor clears a player they can return and play.
The only steadfast rule OHSAA has about players returning is that they must be cleared by a physician and that letter clearing the player must remain on file for 4 years.
