Wellston 36 Alexander 13

Post by Thelongwindedanswer »

Wellston coming off a poor performance against West and Alex dropping one to Athens. Not sure what to think about this one. Thoughts?

Alexander played better than the score would indicate against Athens. I say they bounce back here and do better than most think the rest of the year.

I think the Spartans find a way to pick up the win.

I really feel like the Spartans are the favorite going into this game. It is always concerning going to Wellston, but I think the discipline of the Spartans will overcome.

Go Alex.

I think some of that is the fact that coach Penrod does such a great job with game planning, but at some point you gotta have the horses t finish the race and Alex has a lot of Pony's out their.

How is the Alexander JVs doing this year? Wondering what Penrod will have next year.

The Spartans JV is 1-1. They have been very competitive. The coaches are doing a great job coaching these young men up.

Seemed like we didn't play with a lot of emotion and when things went against us, we just accepted it and didn't fight back.

We can compete with all the teams left on our schedule, kids need to understand that we can be in all these games.

I would like to see us right the ship against an Alexander team that is well coached and get some momentum back.

You are correct with both those points Dandy, I have also heard we will have a couple more players out this week? Have you heard anything?

I have not heard that, but it will be another 4 years before my last one starts through the program so I don't hear much this year.

Been a rough week for the Rockets, hopefully we play inspired.

It is a game we can compete in obviously slowing down a couple of Alex's key players is job #1. Harris had them all but tied with Athens at halftime last week.

keys to the game:

1. Can the defensive line and linebackers of Alexander stop the inside run for the whole game?
2. Alexander needs to find another option on offense. If for no other reason than to keep the defense honest.

I believe the defense will step up and get stops in this game. They were very good against the run against Portsmouth East, so I look for good effort in this game.

Go Alex.

This may end up being the best game of the week.
