Dont forget Nelsonville-York in the 7-8 spot. They have a legit shot to go 8-2 or 7-3 this year if they stay healthy. They are not highly rated right now, but can move up.

I dont see Portsmouth beating CG and Chesapeake. They will get few points from beating SP, GA, Fairland and Ironton (that has a funny ring to it).

Minford has to win vs Williamsburg and West and a win over Waverly would do them a world of good. Right now I am figuring them at 7-3 with losses to RH, Burg and Waverly.

If West can beat Raceland and Waverly they will be in the drivers seat for one of the #7 or #8 spots. I dont see both Minford and West making it. With both potentially losing to Waverly, their matchup is critical assuming their only other losses are Waverly and Burg.
The Trojans won't lose both games week 6&7 that puts them in at 8-2 if they lose 1 of them. If

You might be right Trojan, but I think they could possibly lose to both CG and Peake is who I think will win the OVC and may not take a loss in conference.

Best of luck!

Goodluck to you also sir.. Peake is good with a lot of speed but there line play needs a lot of work from what I've seen..

If you are correct that Portsmouth cannot beat CG and/or 'Peake, how does Rock Hill beat them? And if RH doesn't, then Rock Hill can't end up in the 7th Play Off spot.

After game 5:
Cadiz may get some additional points today as (I think) a couple of their beaten teams are playing on Saturday, but shouldn't change their position.

1 5-0 Wheelersburg Wheelersburg 9.7000 23.5 50.0 100
2 4-0 426 Coshocton Coshocton 8.5556 18.0 36.5 90

Burg and Portsmouth could realistically see each other in the playoffs. Yikes

I think it will come down to Ptown, RH and Minford fighting for the 8 seed. Minford will most likely miss the cut losing to Burg and probably Waverly. If both RH and Ptown finish at 8-2 they could very well be setting at 7 and 8.

Those top five teams in this region are all solid, well-coached, fundamentally sound teams. This region however, will probably come down to either Wheelersburg vs. Ridgewood or Burg vs. Union Local. Union Local has a very nice team this year. I think the region will find out how good they are when they play Barnesville in week 9 or 10.

To busy watching highlight tapes of all those D1 players Ironton has.

Again, if Zane Trace goes 8-2 or 7-3 they will be in the playoffs.

I wouldn't mind seeing Zane Trace at 8th seed and Burg being top seed or Rock Hill getting the chance to visit Ed Miller Stadium.

I think Minford or Portsmouth get the 6, 7, or 8th spot. Would be a short lived postseason run if either one had to see Burg in round 1, @ ED Miller.

Speaking on the Trojans, there are some teams in the region portsmouth could hang with. If they got a favorable seed, they may be able to pull out a win given the matchup. Long way to go, just exciting to see the Trojans playing meaningful football this late in the year. It has been too long.

After going through schedules and projecting games, which is simply my opinion, I came up with the following point totals:

Wheelersburg is in,(Didnt waste time figuring exact points but will be mid 20's @ 10-0) probably in the 1 spot unless Union Local finishes 10-0, which I think is unlikely with 4 toss up games left on Union Local's schedule.

Union Local @10-0 26.4
@9-1 L coming to Weir- 21.8
@8-2 Losses coming to Weir and Barnesville 18.65
@7-3 Losses coming to Weir, Barnesville and St C 16.75

Garaway @ 10-0 21.45
@9-1 L to Ridgewood 17.45 *Garaway is 9-1 at worst

Ridgewood @10-0 20.20
@9-1 16.15 *Same as Garaway very unlikely to lose more than 1 game
Ridgewood Garaway play this week so one more than likely finishing 10-0 other will be 9-1, both should be in playoffs.

Coshocton @ 9-0 20.38
@8-1 L to Dover 16.83
* Not likely Coshocton beats Dover, yet is possibility, I would call it a long shot. Coshocton very likely to finish 8-1

The above 5 teams in my opinion are pretty close to locks, where they finish seed wise is still very much up in the air.

Harrison Central @8-2 15.95

Have to win out in order to do so but really only chance at losing is this week against ST. C. Win this week Id guess 15.95 gets them in

Zane Trace @8-2 18.1

Have to win out, very possible. 2 games left they could stumble in Paint Valley this week and Piketon week 8

@7-3 L to Paint Valley 14.65

@7-3 L to Piketon 15.05
* I think one more loss and they are out, but personally think they will win out finish 8-2 and be in with 18.1 pts

Nelsonville York @8-2 20.5 This would be enough to host IMO
@7-3 L to Athens 15.8 This should squeak them in

These are the 8 I think have the best chance of getting in with the way I see games going the last 5 weeks. Remember these are my projections, I have been wrong a time or 2 before....

In the Mix

Portsmouth @9-1 19.05
@8-2 L to Chesapeake 14.4
@8-2 L to Dawson Bryant 16-4
@8-2 L to Ironton 16.35

Need to beat Chesapeake and either DB or Ironton to get in, Loss to Chesapeake and Id say 8-2 doesnt get it done.

Martins Ferry @8-2 16.0

* Have to win out to get in, Indian Creek and Bellaire are the 2 games that they could lose, Id guess they are the underdog in the IC game.

Minford Have to go 8-2 and beat either Burg, not happening, or Waverly, not happening IMO

Ironton Have to win out go 7-3, unlikely to happen

Have Chesapeake, Rock Hill, Dawson Bryant and Portsmouth left, all lose able, yet winnable games.

Garaway handled R'Wood fairly easily, moves into first with the resulting 2nd level points. Liberty Union moves into consideration, rest pretty much as expected except Portsmouth lost to Coal Grove. Ironton hopes stay alive with a win. Don't know yet what Union Local did. Going to be interesting for the 4-8 spots.

Portsmouth probably has to win out now, too many teams ahead of them and nipping at their heels for them to be in at 6-4 or 7-3
