Wood usually travels better. But with the 2+ hour drive, Wood is a blue collar community, ticket prices, gas, ect, I'm sure that hurt the wood crowd. Also wood numbers were slightly down this year. Usually have between 50-55 players, senior class only has 7 and the freshman class had 6 finish the year. Hats off to the Burg. Best of luck the rest of the season. I was definitely impressed with your O. The Davis kid is a stud. Hopefully we can meet again next season. Cupboard is not empty for the wood. Will return 17 juniors next season in which 11-14 of them saw consistent playing time the last two seasons.
Good luck Burg.

I agree with the ticket price.
Sad when you can go to a Div 3 college game for less than a high school regular season or playoff game.

You can get in to a college game for less than $5? That is what I paid for every game I went to this year except for the playoffs and that's the OHSAA, not the schools.

I understand it is the OHSAA and not the schools, for the most part.

I think the only place I paid five bucks this year was at Warren.Every where else was six

Most DIII college games are as not as good as a quality high school game.

I have watched some horrible high school games.
The bottom line the price should of a high school game, should never cost more of a college game, on any level.
JV tickets equal or cost more than a D-3 college game, in some cases.

I have heard enough people say the price of a high school ticket keeps them away and the small crowds I have witnessed the last few years support this.

Yeah, I'm a Warren fan, and why would you go to a Warren game? Our program right now is stuck in the mud!! I thought last year we were taking some strides and then just had total collapse this year, been a real struggle getting kids out and we've let our facilities go down hill big ine in the past 10 years.

My observations:

Logan is a fine facility for a playoff game but if they want to keep hosting they need to get a new clock operator!

No offense to all the Burg fans bragging on your defense but I liked your offense much better than your D. I thought the Wood found some holes in your defense and could have had a couple more sustained drives if not for self inflicted mistakes. However your offense looked capable of scoring with anybody in Div. V. Too much skill for the Wood to contain. That is a pretty good Wood defense that you put up 42 on.

I thought the officiating was so so and missed some calls both ways.

Great effort from the Wood as always. No quit in them, but Burg was just the better team. The Wood had to pretty much play a perfect game and hope for some breaks to come out on top, and that did not happen.

Good Luck to the Burg the rest of the way!
Two of your scores were basically given to you by miscues from the Burg. You guys had one sustained drive all night and that too was aided by a penalty after and INT that should have been Burg ball had they called the obvious holding when one of your O-Lineman tackled one of our defenders chasing the QB. The other two scores were by virtue of a muffed punt he never should have tried to field and a tipped ball that should have been intercepted and that one was after a fumble by the Burg. I thought other than that they held the Ridgewood offense in check. I believe it was around 250 to 90 in yardage at the half.

I have never paid more than $5 for a regular season high school game in the past 10 years or so. If someone can't afford that for a ballgame then they don't really want to go anyway. Those same people that complain about the $5 for a game probably have no problem paying $8 for a 6 pack. lol
