The second be half should start with a running clock.

I don't know about all these predictions.

Athens has a lot of question marks at the moment. The line was suppose to be a huge strength with all five guys back, but the 260lb center decided not to play which leaves a huge hole in the middle. They have a QB who was hurt last year as a soph and hasn't really seen any real varsity action yet. Not sure the 'Dogs possess a real 'home run threat' on offense, a guy that strikes fear into the heart of defensive coordinators like Burrow or Saltzmen did. They lost almost their entire defensive line from last year and the DB's got scorched by an o.k. Marietta team on Saturday.

With that being said, there is potential there. A lot will depend on those guys up front. Big doesn't always equate to good - you have to work hard to be a good football player and you have to be tough in the trenches. If the big guys make up their minds and decide to be tough and physical, then yes, Athens will be a quality football team this year. If not, another 6-4 season is likely.

What Athens does have though is one of the best coaching staffs around, if anyone can motivate this team and put them in position to win games, it's coach Adams and company.

I think predictions could be based more on Warren than on Athens. Warren hasn't been very competitive for what 4-5 years?

Friday's game can be heard live on Power 105.5FM or wxtq.com if you are outside the listening area.

Athens should have very little problem with Warren but I am hoping that the boys from Barlow play well.

Hoping for a Washington County victory.

Good luck and good health to both teams.

If scrimmages mean anything this game might be close or even a shock. Warren usually plays Marietta very well. If Warrens young talent can jell watch out.

Marietta beat Athens last year 3-0

Marietta barely beat Warren and Gallia

Athens had its JV in by half against those two

Athens 35
Warren 7

Any athens posters want to give a clue as to why the Warren offense is so anemic? Size of line? Lack of playmakers at skill positions, scheme, all of the above?

Good job The Plains. Glad to see this as yet another TVC Ohio non conference win. We'll take all the playoff points we can get.

Offensive line is very weak and slow.
