River Valley 51 Eastern 27

TVC-Hocking vs. TVC-Ohio. Last season RV won big 57-0 at Eastern. RV however lost 16 seniors from last season's playoff team. Eastern is young, but does have some skill players back.

Thoughts on this one??

Close game last year until right before halftime, then RV's talent and seniors took over. Would expect this game to be closer the whole time, but there are a lot of unknowns. 1: How good are the players RV has stepping in to take over for the 16 seniors? 2: Last year Eastern had 7 seniors but several of those were 1st year players. This year they have only 5 seniors. How much have last years freshmen and sophomores that started grown up?

Eastern has big play ability and could keep it close early (like last year) but don't see them having the depth to stay in this game late.

I see Eastern being better than last year and River Valley being a little worse.

35-21?

Be nice to see Eastern pull this one out. If they do look for them to be dropped from the RV schedule soon there after.

With so much youth and inexperience on both teams, momentum could play a big factor. If one team gets up early, how will the other team respond. One thing about RV, they had talented skill players at nearly every position, and they were huge up front. Do they still have that kind of size this year?

This will be the last year for RV and Eastern for a while. RV probably doesn't gain much from playing another D7 school, and teams in the TVC Hocking just need wins in their non conference schedule. 7-3 should make the playoffs in the Hocking, so having 2 winnable non conference games is important. I was told that RV and Eastern both wanted out of the game this year, but couldn't find replacements. I heard Eastern will play Hannan and Green next year non conference.

Let's hope Eastern doesn't do to Hannan what Miller did last year or that series won't last long. Not sure that is a good pick up but Green is IMO.

River Valley played South Gallia last night in the teams annual Jamboree Game.

River Valley won big over the Rebels 42-6.

Interested to see how this season goes for the Raiders! Good luck to South Gallia as well!

I would think this game would be more like the one 2 years ago. Both teams have a lot of youth playing. Can't wait for Friday!

Heard some RV fans talking and they don't think eastern is gonna be much of a challenge. Hopefully the Raiders team and coaching staff isn't thinking like that because if so I could see the Eagles coming in and surprising people, because that's what eastern and southern are gonna do this year... SURPRISE PEOPLE

RV 51
Eastern 27 F

What a night for Junior QB Patrick Brown! In his first start (taking over now for the holder of basically every passing record at RV in Dayton Hardway), Brown was 13-18 for 301 yards, 4TD/1INT!!
