Post by LICKING COUNTY FAN »

Tonight at Hamilton Township high school, the Rangers battled the Tigers, from Circleville in a week ten match up. As it was my last visit to a Rangers home game, the home stands were packed and the fans were into the game, from the very start all the way to the end of it.

Just forty five seconds into the contest, Michale Camp the quarterback for the Tigers was dropped by, Dillon Flanery and Christian Swauger for a one yard loss. The Tigers would get a seventeen yard gain from,Connor Warden, who broke a tackle on his way to the long gain, with 10:43 left in the opening quarter. The Tigers drive hit back to back speed bumps on the next two plays. The first being a run by,Preston Griffin that ended with no gain due to a big hit by, Anthony Balsimo, with 10:26 showing on the clock. At the 9:45 mark of the quarter,Griffin was dropped for a five yard loss by Jeremy Maynard. With 9:19 remaining in the quarter Cap had his passed tipped by,Balsimo. Balsimo not only tipped the ball, he would pick it off, ending the Tigers drive.

The Tigers defense got a nice play by,Greg Brewer who broke up a pass putting the Rangers into a fourth and five with 8:19 left on the clock.

At the 6:01 mark of the quarter, Mike Phimmasone hauled in a pass good for a thirty six yard gain. The three play, fifty seven yard drive came to a close on a twenty one yard run by the talented,Jacob Long. The point after kick by,Austin Bowen made this a,7-0 game with 5:16 left in the opening period.

2:58 was left in the quarter when,Phimmasone caught pass from,Patrick Robinson good for a sixteen yard gain.Long tacked on fifteen more yards, with 2:43 left. Long would fumble the ball on the Tigers one yard line with,50.9 left in the quarter and out of the pile was a Tiger player.

One play later the Rangers defense picked up a safety on,Camp with 43.9 left , to make this a,9-0 game

Mikele Cumberland would catch a pass from Robinson and then pick up seventeen yards before being stopped by Brewer, with 27.9 left. Trey Johnson picked up thirty five yards on a pass play. Making the tackle on the play for the Tigers was,Cole Warden.Long ended the quarter with an ten yard run down to the Tigers one yard line.

Five seconds into the quarter number two, turner eased in from a yard out. The point after kick made this a,16-0 game.

Christian Redman, the Tigers talented running back was stopped by,Phimmasone but not before picking up seventeen yards.

After getting the ball back the Rangers offensive line started dominating things, making it easier for the ground game to pick up large chunks of yards on each run. First it was a twenty yard run by,Johnson, That was followed up with a 10 yard gain by,the elusive Wes Payne. Then it would be a twenty two yard run by, Long. The 8 play,76 yard drive ended with a eleven yard touchdown pass from Robinson to Dillon Flanery, with 7:00 left in the half. The point after kick made this a,23-0 game.

The Tigers offense started plugging away on a nice long drive, that ended with play number twelve, when Camp connected with Connor Warden on a nine yard score. A two point conversion pass fell incomplete keeping the score,23-6 Rangers.

The Tigers got a pick by,Greg Brewer with 14.7 left in the quarter deep inside Tiger territory.

The Rangers would put together a long fourteen play drive that totaled eighty six yards and ended with a Long two yard run. The point after kick made this a,30-6 game. I believe this took the last breath of air out of the Tigers team, that all ready looked beat.

The Tigers tried a halfback pass with 6:43 left in the third, but the pass thrown by Warden was easily picked off by,Payne. Payne would avoid several Tigers would be tacklers before going down after a short return.

Long would use another gigantic hole opened up by his offensive line to pick up eighteen yards, with 6:03 left in the quarter.

Just five seconds into the final frame,Flanery recovered a fumble by Camp, to give the Rangers the ball one more time.

The game's final score came with 7;43 left in the game, on a fourteen yard run by Long. The point after kick would make the final score,37-6 Rangers.
