Week 10: Gallia Academy (1-8) @ Jackson (8-1)

Post by ironman02 »

The traditional Week 10 rivalry game between Jackson and Gallia Academy will take place at Alumni Stadium on Friday night. With GAHS leaving for the OVC after this season, this will be the last meeting between the two arch rivals for the foreseeable future. The Blue Devils lead the all-time series 49-42-7, boosted by a nine game winning streak from 1999-2006 (including a playoff victory in 1999). However, Jackson has turned the tables in recent years, winning 6 of the last 8 meetings.

The SEOAL championship will also be on the line, with Jackson looking to win the crown outright. With a win, though, GAHS could share the title with both Jackson and Logan since there are only four teams remaining in the current SEOAL.

This will be senior night for a Jackson senior class that has enjoyed great success. The Ironmen will also be looking for the 600th win in program history, which would rank them in the Top 30 in football wins in the state of Ohio.

Good luck to the Ironmen! Win for the seniors, bring home SEOAL championship #24, get win #600, and hopefully earn a home playoff game! And, of course, send our rivals to the OVC with a loss!

Jackson will have a big night.
They will get to rest their starters in the second half.

GAHS played Logan pretty tough for the 1st Quarter or so last week. Jackson needs to be focused and play with intensity because crazy things happen in this rivalry.

Gallia's entire football program may be the worst in their schools history. Jackson's JV's play this game.

Gallia Academy varsity team is bad. But this is far from worst team ever. And the jv were really competitive in every game accept Jackson game and freshmen about that same. considering j.v. team almost all freshmen. not horrible. This is also the toughest schedule Blue devils has played in years. Don't get me wrong this team is bad. and think Jackson may put up 70 or more to send us out of league. Gallia offense will be lucky to gain 100 yards all night if Jackson plays there a game.

Lost in all the playoff talk is the fact that Jackson defeated Gallia Academy 64-20 after leading 58-6 at the half.

Congrats to the Ironmen on their 24th SEOAL Championship and 600th win in school history!

Good luck to GAHS in the OVC next year.

The series comes to an end after 99 total games.

I would guess that the series will continue at some point as a non-league game. Jackson will be struggling to find games, and this is one that definitely makes sense. In fact, I'd like for it to be the Week 1 game instead of Wellston.

this game may continue sometime in the future, but Gallia academy i do believe has signed long term deals with river valley and meigs for two of there non conference games. And with shape program is in at this point that makes sense. i think that 3 game will be a wild card game for a few years then Jackson would make great sense. being the biggest school in conference they will need to schedule up at least one bigger opponent a season Jackson would make sense in every way then.
