Week 10 Rock Hill @ Fairland

Post by Native Blood »

Thoughts?
Should be another win for the Redmen!

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body;
but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming:
"WOW...WHAT A RIDE!!!"

Hoping for a good clean competitive game. I would like to see Fairland get a win but would also like to see Rock Hill make the playoffs. It looks like they may get to play at Alexander which is a winnable game for the Redmen.

Rock Hill will not make the playoffs because of Fairland. Not because of Fairland beating them, but because of Fairlands lack of points. Coal Groves victory over Fairland shot them down 4 places in the rankings

Rock Hill is a lock for the playoffs with a win and 93% in with a loss to Fairland according to Drew Pastuer.

Either way it looks good for the Redmen. The Dragons would actually help Chesapeake with playoff points the most with an upset win.

Fairland is a VERY young team. The Dragons have lost several to graduation over the past two years including several college level players. Also, the coaching carousel hasn't helped either.

Two years ago the Dragons were one of the toughest teams in their division. They will get it back. Actually, this season, they have been competitive in some games at least til the second half where youthful mistakes have put games out of reach. Don't be surprised to see a close game this Friday.

I believe Rock Hill will be ready for this game, kids want it and believe this year. And a chance to play week 11 hasn't happened in a long time.

Not a chance, a garaunteed week 11. Good final game for RH. It will give them a chance to rest some players in the second half.

Here is a look at these two teams common opponents this season:

Rock Hill / Portsmouth (38-14) W
Rock Hill / South Point (48-0) W
Rock Hill / Ironton (13-28) L
Rock Hill / Chesapeake (27-20) W-OT
Rock Hill / Coal Grove (21-33) L

Fairland / Portsmouth (7-35) L
Fairland / South Point (8-32) L
Fairland / Ironton (0-35) L
Fairland / Chesapeake (6-36) L
Fairland / Coal Grove (13-20) L

Other than the Coal Grove match up, this looks like it could get ugly for the Dragons. But as with many OVC games this season, its all about turnovers. IF the Redmen get sloppy and don't hold on to the ball and the Dragons can finish a drive or two, this could be one interesting game.
