They played D3 Chillicothe last week, and face D3 Western Brown at home next week. Travel to one of the best D5 programs in the entire state the next week. They play D2 Logan, D2 Winton Woods who was a state champion just a handful of years ago, and a D1 equivalent Cabell Midland in Week 10.

Oh, and West Jeff was a D5 state semifinalist the first two years that Jackson played them during this four-year series.

Jackson's schedule has been one of the best in SE Ohio the last few years, and they have also fared pretty well in the D3 playoffs the last two seasons. There was a time when Jackson's schedule could be criticized, but overall, it's very solid this year.

I better correct myself. West Jeff was only a regional finalist in 2014, not a state semifinalist.

Congrats on the win.

Be cool to see Jackson play Newark Wildcats.

I agree when the contract was made, this was a good match up.

WJ is going through some rare bad times. I expect them to right the ship, but it will take longer than it once would.

I'll give you this year, they finally took the plunge knowing this was the last year of the SEOAL, but don't act like the Ironmen face some kind of gauntlet. Not that they aren't talented, they don't play in many tough games. Tough D5 teams? Good D3 teams especially in Southeast Ohio should boat race D5 teams, let alone D6.

Chillicothe (D3) 2015 playoffs
Western Brown (D3)
Wheelersburg (D5) 2015 state semi finals
Logan (D2)
Winton woods (D3)
Cabel midland (would be D1 in ohio)

Not to mention
TVC favorite Meigs
West Jeff is down but would beat a lot team around here

Wellston

Can't or at least shouldn't play a tough gave every single week. I go to watch the kids compete and after the first few series the Jackson kids were relentless and legally violent. I looked at the WJ roster and it looked much like Jackson's minus Cam Williams.

Were you there southie? It was as hard hitting as Ivan remember the Ironmen ever being. Yeah we should beat them and the Chillicothe's are better for us but we have plenty of schedule toughness this year. Last year must've been ok too or wouldn't have advanced so far.

Glad to see the Ironmen play better but West Jeff was the most timid team that I can remember playing at Jackson. They were scared to death at the start of the game and played that way though out the entire game. They were not good at all. In two weeks we will see just how good the Ironmen are.

They were scared of Jackson But I wouldn't say they are no good . They rolled adena 42-0 the week before .

It's not really fair to judge this Jackson team on just the burg game . Jackson lost almost everyone from last years team. 7-8 Sophs and freshmen playing many minutes

Come on Poo.... They were terrible !!!!! Adena is horrible. If Jackson loses against the Burg then our playoff hopes are in serious jeopardy. So yes you can judge them on the Burg game. Truth

No one is acting like Jackson is facing some kind of gauntlet. It's a solid schedule that you were insulting. Jackson can't help it that West Jeff has fallen off the last couple years. And actually, Jackson has played some other quality non-conference games over the last few years, not just this year. Athens, Granville, St. Charles, Bishop Ready, Ironton (before they had really fallen off). Don't let the facts get in your way though.

Also, where are all the D3 or bigger teams in SE Ohio that Jackson is supposed to schedule? They'll be playing a few of them as conference games in the new league starting next year.

Agreed. Unfortunately, the loss to Chillicothe really put Jackson in a tough spot. They have to beat one of Wheelersburg or Winton Woods (maybe even both) to make the playoffs, provided that they take care of business in their other games.

Fantastic 50 says that at 7-3 we're on the bubble.
8-2 with our schedule should get us in
9-1 maybe a home game week 11??

What has happened to West Jeff? They have fallen off the map a little bit...
