Great season Pirates!!! Just didn't show up in the first half and Coshocton answered every time the Burg scored in the 2nd half.

Burg has a lot of weapons back next year on both sides of the ball so should be right back in the playoffs again. Schedule is a little beefed up with Columbus Watterson coming to town next year. Also heardDayton Chaminade Julienne might be on the schedule

I said weeks ago that the first good running team would have success against Burgs defense.

Good season anyway.

Burg beat themselves. First half was horrible. Coshocton played a good game. Hats off to them. Good luck moving forward.

Congrats to Coshocton on moving on and Burg on their season. I said after the Jackson game that the burg run defense was a weakness. Figured after the way the defense played first 2 rounds maybe they had corrected it. I'd like to hear some stats see where things went wrong.

Congrats to the Burg on another very fine season and to Coshocton on the win. They were everything they were advertised to be. Big and physical and controlled the LOS. Burg with too many mistakes in the 1st half. Very hard to come back fro 16 down.

Good luck against Coldwater next week Redskins!!

Burg has to strengthen the schedule. Beating the brakes off Ironton every year isn't making us better. Hopefully adding Waterson and some others will prepare us for the playoffs next year.

That's the truest statement I've read on here in a while. When Ironton was wearing the Burg out every year, it was Desales, waterson, Logan, etc that provided needed competition that led to 8 state final appearances.
I've sat back and watched posters thump their chest about beating Lawrence and scioto county, it's time for Burg to go to next level or just be the king of two counties

It sounded like Coshocton was able to run the ball rather easily.....no?

Said TOP couldn't get out of hand and it did. Surprisingly burg out rushed coshocton but the fumbled snaps at the beginning hurt the pirates. Coshocton had holes in their defense that burg started hashing, the best way to beat them is have them play from behind. They are too good at ball efficiency. Burg schedule had nothing to do with the loss, just the disappearance from the first half. Crabtree brother called it. Good luck to Coshocton.

At times yes but there were times when they had them only to get passed on for the first down. I believe twice maybe three times it happened.

Coshocton 34
Ironton 10

Coshocton 30
Wheelerburg 20

Pretty similar

I am surprised with the outcome of this game but I shouldn't be. Smash-mouth football will beat the spread (finesse) 9 out of 10 times. Finesse teams will put up huge numbers and their fans like that but beating a physical team doesn't happen very often.

Coshocton could've easily had 2 more TDs

Could've scored over 40 easily

As much as I don't like to say it, Im taking the Skins by a TD. I think Wheelersburg is looking past this game to the state semis and will get caught sleeping. Still a great year for Wheelersburg.
Evidently you haven't watched very many Burg sports teams. I have never in the 45 years I have lived here watched a Burg team give up and lie down for anyone. It doesn't matter if they are up by 30 or down by 30 they play hard to the final whistle.

Coshocton looks big and slow from what I can see on the film. Burgs speed should have their way with them and if we can get up 14-0 or 21-0 and force them to pass it will be the same result as the NY game.
Pretty sure everyone laughed me out of the room when I posted about Coshoctons size scaring me. Got called a troll and everything else. Hmmmmmm not so funny now huh?

The storm was nothing but a sprinkle. The defense got exposed for the weak defensive line. They didn't play a team like this all year. Better to lose this game then to get Mercy ruled by Coldwater again. Every team in the SOC was young this year. There will be better teams in the SOC as well as PHS and Ironton too next year. Funny how evey year burg is gong to be better next year than this year and no one else will. I don't drink that koolaid. Break out the basketballs!
