RV wasnt competitive either. Symmes valley is too small, st joe is too small. I think the ball is in CG's court. They are the only ones that i could see skip town due to their size. Crazy, crazy take would be South Webster, wheelersburg and minford would be a great fit. At that point you would lose cg for sure and gallia needs to go to the TVC against bigger schools. Never going to happen obviously.

Ironton
Wheelerburg
Minford
SW
Fairland
South point
Rock hill
Chesapeake
Minford and Webster are relatively the most central teams in the soc, and about 10-25 minutes from everyone else. Only way they join a conference with these teams is an soc-ovc merger. Even then I think Minford would eye getting in the svc over that

Ppl talking about Symmes Valley I have to wonder the thought process behind that SV is still a DVII still and for whatever reason some think that going into a conference of mainly DV schools is a good idea?? Things would be so lopsided in football you won't have to worry about those drives anymore because football would disappear at SV. They got a good group coming up and should compete against Eastern this season for the title and will probably win it the following year or 2. NOW ppl want to talk about putting them against these OVC schools who are they going to compete with?? Rock HIll, South Point?? Doubtful. Just a terrible idea

Northwest only makes sense from a size standpoint outside of that travel would increase drastically for NW and you have to take all sports into consideration with it. Could I see them moving to get away from Burg and West possibly but then they're just going to find themselves against Fairland for NW there's always going to be that better team they'll have to face whether it's SOC or OVC so why would they add the travel?? I know there were a lot of NW ppl up arms over the move to SOC2 play but I think they're starting to adjust and they just knocked off Waverly last year on their way to a 6-4 record.
Oak Hill was given a red carpet to the TVC after they applied last year. The TVC voted them in and the OH board declined the invitation. That most likely put the nail in the coffin for OH ever joining the TVC. I believe they will remain in the SOC for years to come. They won’t jump to the OVC if they declined the TVC invitation. Northwest won’t make the jump either. I agree with you there.

In terms of the OVC, they now have a football schedule that requires no non conference games during conference play. This is a current problem with the TVC. The OVC is fine as it is now. With that said, if they lose one more school, they will be in a difficult situation. Gallia, imo, would get into the TVC if they petition for membership. That’s the outlier. I don’t see any of the other OVC schools looking to move anywhere. If Gallia leaves for the TVC, the OVC may have to look to a KY or WV school to fill that slot.
Yeah I heard they turned it down, but I hear it was more of the new Super Intendent and his own agenda and the board went along with it.
