Re: WK 6 Portsmouth (4-1) @ Coal Grove (3-1)
When two teams are similar in talent, minimizing turnovers and penalties are critical to winning a football game. It's pretty much the same script every week. With that said, I would like to see the Trojans' defense play in the first half like they have in the 2nd half of the last two games. They have allowed a total of only 6 points to Rock Hill and Gallia Academy combined. In the first half of those games, PHS gave up 33 points combined.
If Portsmouth can win this game, it will take a huge step toward (1) a winning season, (2) contending for an OVC title, and (3) a possible playoff berth. Much on the line for the Trojans in this battle.
GO TROJANS!!!

The next two weeks could make or break the Trojans' turnaround season. Also, Coal Grove has a lot to play for, as a win would give a lot of playoff points.
In fact, I would think the winner of this game will definitely play in week 11. So it's kind of like a playoff game. I look for a hard hitting, very intense game. Injuries could play more of a role than anything else in this one.

After seeing CG last week.
If they do not have the ability to have a better rotation and this game is close at the end, I think they will, or could be in trouble. They seemed to be gas midway through the 2nd half last week.
34 is a beast.
I think they need to find different ways to get him the ball.
I have not see Portsmouth and only read the preview, so my prediction is more of a guess.
Portsmouth by 2.

Just watched film PEAKE vs CG and you are rt they where gassed bad in second half. That's when the Trojans have played there best football. After watching I'm gonna change my score to 38-20 TrojansLICKING COUNTY FAN wrote:After seeing CG last week.

CG will win this one. I believe it will be close until 3rd quarter, then CG will pull away. I watched Portsmouth play, they are defenately better than in the past, but they allowed an 0-5 GA team to play with them for a half. If GA didn't shoot themselves in the foot multiple times, it would have been a close game.

You can't be serious lol. That game was never going to be close, Portsmouth played backups the whole 4th quarter, if anything it could have been worse.

Could it have been worse, yes, I absolutely agree with you. Could have it been a much closer game, yes. GA throws two picks, GA has two fumbles when the score was within a couple TD's. GA comes out after half and takes a 12 yard sack then punts and allows a return to the 1. 21-7 becomes 28-7 and the gates opened up. Im taking nothing away from the Trojans. They did what they had to do to win. I am simply saying, they are not as good as I thought before watching the game vs GA.

The one common opponent (West) could've easily been losses for either Grove or Portsmouth. I know its not always accurate to compare scores but, you must be smoking some wild stuff to think Portsmouth gets beat by 5 touchdowns. It's going to be close and Portsmouth is going to pay those boys back for last years beat down.
