Wonder what Rohr would have done if Harden hadn't been playing.

I'm surprised. Logan is much younger in starters than I was told.
16 of the 22 starters are upper class men . That's that real young imo
Its not just age, but experience. The whole backfield are basically brand new. Two sophomores plus a junior QB who played receiver last year.

The center was a tight end last year. A junior guard who didn't letter last season. And a sophomore at tackle.

On defense, a freshman and two sophomores at linebacker. Only four letterwinners on the whole defense. You can be a junior or senior, but if you couldn't see the field enough to letter you've still only got JV football experience.

Not making excuses, just stating the reality. This team is historically young and extremely inexperienced. We've had teams this inexperienced before [1990 (2-8), 1995 (2-8), 2002 (6-4), 2010 (3-7) for example].

The good news is the freshman and sophomore classes are both very good. This team will get better every week. But its a bear of a schedule for a team this young and inexperienced. They'll need to stay healthy to have a shot at being competitive every week.

Rohr didn't play football at all his freshman year.

Man, was that team loaded with running backs though. I still think Jeremy Coakley might be the best tailback at Logan to never start a game. Coakley ended up at WR his senior year (2001). That run of Wayne Bateman (98-99)-Derek Harden (00-01)-Austin Rohr (02-03) is pretty special.

Agree 100%
Heck Jackson has a senior qb but first year as a starter . Jackson 9-10th classes really good as well and this game will be a war next 4 years .

Locos -- My bad. Not McBride . Bill Delong was who I was thinking of. 4 yr letterman on the OL but can't recall if he started as a Frosh. I checked Loganfootball to be sure. Played 1956, 57, 58 & 59.

Logan grad -

Kline started against Sheridan and played quite a bit Friday. Just wasn't in on first play so wasn't a "starter." Expect it's only a matter of time.

Ah, gotcha.

I did check DeLong as he was a rare 4year letter winner. But again, he didn't start early in his freshman year but did by about midseason according to LDN articles.

In all my years around Logan football, Delong was the meanest dude I ever saw with the Purple.

I know a guy that coached over at TV last year so I may be able to help...

Teays only was able to beat Westfall last week by a single score due to them having 3 scores called back in a game they tallied 18 penalties in.
The QB was the starting safety last year (possibly this year) and is pretty solid athlete. Not as elusive as Pennington last year, but has great downhill speed and a stronger arm.
Two tailbacks for TV: #31 and #1 -- i've been told #1 has improved since last year, but I do know #31 had 7 carries last week for 126 yards. Thats including a 90 yard TD run being called back. Passing game i'm told looked decent, and the fullback is tough (first year playing varsity though).

Shut down the run game and lock down #15 and #9 in the passing game and Logan rolls...BUT If Logan can't stop the ISO, Kick, Power, and Counter, then those will be the only four plays you'll see all night out of Teays' offense. Teays will most likely give the 3-4 look to combat the spread until Logan proves themselves running the ball. Make them go to the 4-3 and throw the rock on them... the DB's struggle making plays in space and 1v1.

Good luck to the Chiefs.

Game Day. Good Luck to the Chiefs.

I'm on the road tonite as the grandson's team goes to Youngstown Liberty. Word is they plan to use him more in the Wildcat tonite besides his Slotback play.

AceofSpades -

Definitely agree about Westfall from what I saw. A lot of "fake compete" there in the final score. Both backs can get after it.
