Ironton is now ranked 7th in the computer poll. Looks like there is a good shot at home field. 1 1/2 points out of 4th place, and that is without Rock Hill reporting their win.

Don't think they've had a kicker since Steve Shelton, and that was 1995

Shelton was a kicker for Ironton, not Coal Grove.

Eitel has them @ 9. No RH report or Union Local. They still aren't in just yet.

Ironton is probably in now. They still need to handle Portsmouth.

Correct. He played at CG but moved to Ironton either his sophomore or junior year. He backed up Chris Ackerman.

Steve Shelton kicked at CG then transferred to Ironton to finish his career Tigercannon71.

My bad I forgot he didn't come in till like his sophomore year I think cause it was him and Troy Sanda were backups to Ackerman.

Bill, mentioning the kid by name???? So what exactly are you saying????? Please educate yourself, it's spelled "Mahlmeister" and "Pinkerman" if you're going to accuse someone of being an Ironton homer, please spell it correctly

This is my first post on here in over a year. I KNEW someone from CG would blame officiating based on the fans I heard on the radio broadcast. However, the Ironton broadcasters (Philyaw and Anthony I believe are the names) they do an excellent job and are very knowledgable.

Since the first complaint came at 7:27 It's obvious those were first quarter penalties. I remember them well because you could hear the profanity from the fans. Now here's the funny part. Both penalties ( a hold and a block in the back) were seen and broadcast by the announcers before the flag was thrown. Now, you tell me, are the Ironton announcers psychics or were there really penalties committed?

See you all next year - or the year after.

congratulations to the tigers on a key victory. I never got to watch it or hear it last night. I hope it was a well called game. I frankly have no idea. but these are 2 fine programs with rich football histories.

I know if the tigers beat the blue devils, they are winless and that could cost the tigers big time.but I have no idea how these things factor. more importantly they 1st have to beat the blue devils.

Two team I often root for, seem to put on a good show for the fans.
I-Town might not be what they once were, but it seems with their name and those classic uniforms, they are still enough to beat the teams they face in the league.

I think that it was a really well-officiated game. The young official JM is wise beyond his years, he was the only member of the crew to catch a late confusing substitution situation. He's well on his way to being a great official. He's not afraid to throw a flag or blow the whistle in any spot against any side. Which is the hallmark of a great ref.

And Tommy P is NEVER going to be biased toward any side. He's only reffed a gazillion playoff games, all sports. That doesn't happen unless you're really good.
