North Adams Football
How long have they had a team? Do they plan to go non club in the future ? I know they are playing @ Fort Frye week 5
Re: North Adams Football
Think they've only had a team for 2-3 years maybe, and I doubt you see them go non club. West Union is one that's had football for a while and has continued to be club the entire time. I believe there was talk a few years ago about possibly seeing West Union, Manchester, North Adams and Peebles being in a league together, but Peebles football really never really was able to gain enough traction and sustain it.EasternDspy wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 6:10 pm How long have they had a team? Just don’t see the point of club football. Kind of shocked to see them traveling to Beverly.

Re: North Adams Football
Frankfort Adena will host Cincinnati Eagles, a good homeschool team. I believe that game is week six.
Re: North Adams Football
I wished more of the Southern Hills schools had football. Poor Fayetteville gets absolutely CRUSHED in almost all their games. If the Southern Hills did start offering football I would vouch HEAVILY for East Clinton to join the league.greygoose wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 11:27 amThink they've only had a team for 2-3 years maybe, and I doubt you see them go non club. A Southern Hills football league with
East Clinton
Fayetteville
Manchester
Peebles
North Adams
West Union
Would be a perfect competitive fit.
Re: North Adams Football
I kind of think this was the idea originally with these other teams gaining football, that you could created a league where the travel was minimal. At one point Fayetteville was actually decent to pretty good then they lost funding I believe and everything just went to crap.fball43 wrote: Mon May 26, 2025 2:50 amI wished more of the Southern Hills schools had football. Yeah that makes absolutely no sense to be, I get trying to find your team games but this is a game that doesn't do either team any good. Honestly I think I'm more shocked that Fort Frye signed them, being a club team they don't gain any points but I also don't think it counts as a multiplier either. Just really no idea why this game was acceptedEasternDspy wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 8:25 pmgreygoose wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 11:27 amThink they've only had a team for 2-3 years maybe, and I doubt you see them go non club. It gives the kids the chance to play a game they love. Underneath it all, isn't that what school should be about?

Fayetteville held their own quite well in the SBAAC National for a few years. While the National division of the SBAAC isn’t overly competitive, they were facing schools much larger than them still. They were a decent ball team and had a nice direction going for their program. However, they’ve struggled pretty badly as of late, and as you said they lost funding. They’ve even elected to go independent in football to try and get an easier/more favorable schedule. There is some speculation that their football team could be in jeopardy.greygoose wrote: Mon May 26, 2025 10:05 amI kind of think this was the idea originally with these other teams gaining football, that you could created a league where the travel was minimal. Re: North Adams Football
I don’t think they wanted a bye. Bishop Hartley was only other team open. This gives them a game and keeps multiplier at 90. Harrison Central dropped Fort late in the cycle.
Re: North Adams Football
I have taught in this league for 27 years and coached for 22…this is basketball country. The closest football school is Clinton Massie or maybe Western Brown. It’s far and away the most expensive sport to start and the area isn’t up to snuff on football coaching so they’d all have to bring in people from the outside. Soccer is very big nowadays too along with basketball at a good number of the 10 schools.
