Golden Eagles have played better competition but will have hands full trying to stop PC running back Baker.

According to my records these two schools have played each other 5 times and Belpre leads the series 4-1.

1970 Paden City 29-0
1971 Belpre 26-7
1972 Belpre 38-14

Agreed. This is our best chance of playing 4 good quarters of football against a team of our caliber but PC is still a slightly better team then us.

Paden City is the same type of program as Belpre in that we are both struggling in terms of numbers. The Wildcats are dressing 18 players this year. They do have some stability with their coaching staff as their HC Robert Price returns for his 3rd season and while Belpre has good coaching now, they are still struggling to overcome the past 2 lost seasons of basically no coaching. Again, not a knock on the kids but that is just the facts.

We are getting better and you can see that each week, especially in the second half as we are playing against 2nd and 3rd string players who are of our skill level.

Paden City went 3-7 last season with wins over Parkersburg Catholic, Millersport and Beallsville.

For now, in the best interest of our program, we need to be scheduling games vs teams that are similar to us as we rebuild. We have no business playing Warren, Fort Frye or the other teams that we played the first 5 weeks of this season for a couple of years.

I do think our players are up to the task this week and I think that this will be our most competitive game of the season vs a similar opponent. I hope our players are rewarded for their continuing hard work.

Good luck and good health to both teams.

As always...

Not sure what everyone is seeing? Paden city is 2-1 with a 73-6 victory and a 51-0 victory. They put up points and play decent defense. Belpre is yet to score against a starting roster or put up and yards at all. Nor do they play defense. Paden city with the win 48-0

Paden City drastically changed their schedule this year so they could have some competitive games. But putting up 73 in week one, kind of feels like the kid of the playground that gets bullied suddenly becoming the bully, lol. Mummers that PC and Magnolia may consolidate in the next couple of years.

PC also lost 30-0 to the only team they have really played. Competition matters and Belpre has played some really good teams. If Belpre’s line blocks, and their linebackers fill the gaps and tackle, they could see their first win. Belpre 14 Paden City 13.

You have no idea of football. Have you ever been to a game?. Belpre has played better teams they might not have scored but are making progress each time.

Personally I remain shocked that there are teams out there that P C can beat .

Spot on. We have to play mistake free, mental and physical, football. Poor execution, this comes from lack of coaching the past 2 years, has been our biggest Achilles heel this season. As always...LETS GO EAGLES!

All Belpre has to do is key on that Baker kid running back.
