Talk about a game-changer...this makes Burg/Ironton game a tossup with Ironton breaking in a new quarterback on road against Burg who now has an experienced senior starting at QB.

Jack Sparrow: is this it or are there some others coming with him?*

Here's his stats at Ashland last year:

11 Games

Passing

90 - 141 - 1053 yards - 4 INT's - 9 TD Passes

Rushing

22 - minus 42 yards

The Tomcats had a really good Rushing attack last year.

I think Burg surprises people this year. This pickup will be huge and playing at home, I think game is within a TD. GO BURG!!!

So you think he’ll start over the other guys who have always been at Burg? So their going to hand him the job? He’s going into a new system. The coaching staff obviously thinks he’s good, or their not confident in what they have coming up.

An Allstate returning sr Qb was beat out a few years ago at the burg so I am guessing he won’t be handed anything

The transfer definitely won't be handed the job, but considering inexperience of Burg's returning QBs (one QB had 4-5 starts last year before being replaced by a senior for rest of season and another QB only saw limited varsity playing time in a few games), I'm assuming the transfer QB who started all of last season will have a leg up in the QB competition.*

The Qb stats are fairly average. The kid probably moved figuring the chances of having a season in Ohio is better than in Ky with him being a senior.

I’m figuring there will be more kids crossing the river from ky and wva to Ohio before long, especially if they are seniors.

You can live in Ohio and play in Kentucky? Correct?

You can't live in Kentucky and play in Ohio? Correct?

Just because you show a change of address, aren't they supposed to look and see if transfers were done for "athletic" reasons?

Oh I’m sure OHSAA has already been notified that they should check this out and the burg officials know this would be put under a microscope to make sure all rules were followed

Just hearsay. But supposedly there are reasons why he left the prior school.

I understand the kid wanting to play, but there are rules for a reason and they need to be followed

I’m sure they will have to have him cleared through the OHSAA before he can play.

Did a running back from Ashland go to Ironton also?

I heard the masters kid who played qb for burg transferred to ironton. Not sure how true it is but ironton already has a pretty good sophomore qb, carpenter I think is his name.

Tayden Carpenter is Going to be Sophomore and will be in a battle for the starting job, he’s definitely going to be special the next few years.
