This game needs to be Saturday, so everyone can come see the streak either continue or end.

Will there be a new boss?

Yeah, actually should be week 1. Hopefully when Logan joins a league it becomes week 1 in 2019

... I wore my Purple & White today at school and will do so the rest of the week as well ! I didn't see a sign about the game Friday in the building or a mention about the game Friday ? ... say it isn't soooo ! gone is the Athens vs Logan rivalry ??? ... 2old was in the building today ! we discussed a number of issues from FB to BB and back to FB ... No league title to play for - I would think that "keeping the 21 year + 360 day" streak alive vs Athens would be a BIG motivator ! - SOMETHING to play for anyway - making sure that 93bulldog loses sleep for yet ANOTHER year ! ... Go Chiefs !!!

It needs to be week 10
Just like Nelsonville-York and Trimble should be week 10

I live in Athens and I'm dirt poor.

That is all.

Oh, and please don't hire Penrod. The guy is a terrific coach, I'd rather him just stay down in OVC country.

I like it...either way Week 1 or 10, sorta like 10 better lol.

Athens has to have a league bye week due to the TVC number of teams right? So they would just have to be granted a permanent Week 10 bye spot by the TVC each year for a non-league game.

Can you imagine that game every year if it came down to a play-off spot or not for Logan or Athens.

Down side of that is that almost every year it seems Week 10 NY and Athens is for a league championship, which probably higher profile game than Logan.

Trimble is Nelsonville-Yorks biggest rival. I know some Athens fans try to say it's them but the hardest hitting game of the season is against Trimble.
We can still beat them to secure the league title week 9 lol

Maybe traditionally NY/Trimble is a bigger rivalry.

But I have yet to see a crowd come close to the 2011 Athens/NY game - size wise.

The week 10 game is still relatively new, but in just a short time an incredible book as already been written. Give it more time and Athens will replace the 'Cats as the Bucks biggest rival. Its inevitable. Playing for a league title year after year on the final weekend of the season will create it.

I get what you are saying but you have to look at it this way.
The Bucks lose week 10 to Athens everyone is pretty bummed but they get over it.
Lose to Trimble week one and it sticks with you like a cancer you can't get rid of til you beat them.

Have to agree with O*B Trimble NY game will always and forever be a bigger rivalry, its like the Buckeyes and that team up north it will never be replaced. The looser of that week 1 game has to live with that bad taste for a year to get redemption and makes the game even better now that you have a long time Trimble coach at the helm of NY. Doesnt get any better than that

I have been to Nelson/York when they play The Plains and it doesn't come close to when Trimble is there.
I always sit/stand on the visitors side. Athens can make big plays and not much out of their fans but Trimble it all together different.

No way!

NY is athens rival in football.
vc is athens rival in basketball.
Warren is athens non conference rival in hoops.

Logan is 'storied' traditional rival.

Great to know NY doesnt look at us as a rival.
A loss week 10 wont even affect their 1 seed in region 23.
We're not the Tomcats - no reason to even get up for that game.

All this talk makes me miss (at least in football) the "old" days of Gallia, Logan, Jackson and Athens playing.
